Now then, lets hear opinions, sugestions to what area it could be set up in and if anyone wants to have fun nominate faction leaders and associates :)
Its a win win situation for me :)
Oh btw, naturally we should encourage spectators but please if it takes off, dont come in BS's and high end cruisers as this will make the faction mmbers nervous :)

Im curious, what region of 0.0 space is the crappiest part, the part alliances dont even bother about.
Im curious because It would be fun to have a fight of supremacy there, I will detail the limits I would like to see below.
The Idea is that a bunch of players that are between goals in the game all simply go there and fight for the right to the systems, I would prefer GM suport but as long as people agree to play for the fun of it rather than to actually controle the area it could turn out to be a very amusing place to be.
Now then the rules:
1: A faction may only consist of max 10 players, you must name the players in your faction on this thread to make it a valid faction.
2: you may while fighting not have any BS and only 1 cruiser of maximum rank 2.
3: you are free to use any frigate or industrial currently in the game.
4: you may use any modules you can fit onto the ships allowed and in any combination legal game wize.
The area we are to fight over should be a minimum of 5 systems per 5 factions included in the fun or 15 systems max.
Each faction will be given a system to start in, if there are more factions than systems noone can "claim" systems from start.
If there are more systems than factions then all factions will start with one own system wich they should atleast try to protect.
Each pilot in each faction starts with one life, for each 5 kills the faction takes they gain one frigate to bolster their forces, ither a replacement for a shot down player or a new recruit to join their ranks.
It will not be a constant war, rather the faction leaders will get together and decide on when the weekly fighting will take place, preferably on a weekend.
If you cant field a full complement in any week then tough, fight with what you have. If you fight with less than 50% of your strenght in three consecutive weeks you will be deemed uncomitted and penalised one ship of your own choosing. if you have less than 4 ships remaining you must play in each week with a minimum of 2 ships untill you have only one left.
The pilotes shot down are not important, nor are the exact ships (with the exeption of the cruiser) your faction may field any pilot and any ship alowed above in any week and change as they see fit as long as the number of ships does not exceede the alowed number, the only exeption is the cruiser, if a faction looses its cruiser it may only be replaced by giving up an aditional frigate/industrial.
When there is only one faction remaining they are considered the winners and should be apropriately rewarded by the other factions and a new mini war can be aranged.
Now then as we all know this sort of thing will attract cheaters and spoil sports, for this reason the time for the fighting should be kept confidential by the factions, its for their own good, and after each fighting session we should all meet in a suitably close by area to chat about what has happened and decide who has bragging rights, who killed whom and who is worthy of fair play praise :)
Most importantly, its based on honor, if you cheat you may get away with it but whats the fun in cheating when playing for fun.
If non participating players arive to hunt the participants then only true kills will count, after all we will all be playing for the fun of PvP, if there are BS's out there hunting us why stop, being killed by them will however not lead to the faction loosing ships (again honor to decide if you were killed by a facction or outsider.)
On to podding, I see no real reason to podkilling but it should be perfectly legal, dont play if you cant afford to loose the implants.
Now then, why only frigs, industrials and a sole rank 2 cruiser.
firstly, friggs are fun but if you allow cruisers and BS they will die too quickly.
If the above is true why alow one cruiser, well it will be the bemoth of the fleet, the battleship if you will and by limiting to rank 2 cruisers they will actually survive for a while as rank 2 cruisers cant sport the firepower the rank 3 and 4 can.
Lastly then, whats to stop 2 or more factions to band together and fight side by side untill only that alliance is left?
NOTHING, thats the fun part, if one faction becomes too powerfull I guess the weaker ones will band together to take the big one down a peg or two wich actually meens you will have to get to know the people in the other factions :)

So noone is interested in fighting in a miniwar?
I would have thought there were scores of players dying for somthing like this based on all the posts on lack of content.

I think this could be done much better in the allready proposed arena wars. In a by ccp controlled arena where you can organise fights and where people can bet on who is going to win.
You wil never ever create an situation where some ******* won't **** up your event by bringing in some BS and shoot the **** out of your frigates.

Yes an arena would be nice however as there at present is none, so why not just have some fun.
A clone is worth a few mil for an experienced char and a top notch frig goes for about 200k atm, if some pathetic griefer wishes to come spoil the fun then who cares, the point is for a bunch of players to get to gether and beat the crap out of each other and have alot of fun in the proces.
Dont tell me there are no players on here that are willing to do this?
Not with all the posts on lack of context and all.
I have not been PvPing alot yet but I would love to as its a lot of fun, especially friendly PvP without all the sad smack talk.
And if its incentive that is needed Im sure I can get my hand on some nice reward for the winning faction.

Heard of implants, anyone who has few implants and is active in PvP never ever uses cruisers or frigates, its not just the cost of the ship, implants and clones cost alot today.
I think only noobs who have 30k clone and no implants would take part in such an event.

Yes, if they find out where and when it takes place.
One of the points would be to pick a place where noone wants to be, that way there will be few if any griefers there.
Then you keep the time for the fight under wraps to further minimize the chance of a griefer turnout.
- dont want to fight against any booring people who are afraid to be podded, nor do I want to fight against people who would cheat, smack talk, whine and/or are bad sportsmen.
I want a fun clean PvP fight, a fight fought because its fun to fight.

Nice idea Certainly should be interesting to see the reactions from the general Eve population, even if limited right now.
I'll Eve mail you tonight, after I talk to my Corp mates and see what there reaction is.

I look forward to hearing from you alar1c, sadly however it seems despite all the complaining about lack of content very few ppl wish to create some content of their own and get on with the game.
As for Rohann, why would I want to do that? why would I want to leave my corp and mess upp all the settings just for a little game, its alot easier to simply go out into 0.0 and not have to muck about with new corps, timers before wars start...

You might try 8L4-XU region. I think it's a CA possession so you'd need to get permission from them to use it, but there's no reason for anyone to actually GO there so I doubt they'd mind... Of course they might not let you in CA space at all since they're at war with half the galaxy.
There's also the space below JK-FIX in CFS space, but I think people mine down there. You could always ask the CFS.
There IS no unclaimed 0.0 region, so those would probably be the best bets...

Sure 100% of 0.0 is claimed but not much of it is in reality guarded, simply saying a bunch of systems is yourse dosnt make it so.
I will never ask permission to go anywhere in 0.0, if I run into anyone they may try to hunt me because Im there but thats what 0.0 is all about.
In short, the alliances only own what they can protect!

I think a controled arena would be a great idea. I think many people would use it. It would be even better if you could customize the rules. Though that could work into allot of stalemate arguments. Kinda like Tank and Jade hehe.
