ZOMG are you all 5yr old kiddies? wtf you want a bone to go bash some guy over the head with..CCP doesnt give a rats hoot about any of you..im not being a bah humbug just pointin out the obvious..anyway whos gonna pay for that extra coding anyway? they can barely keep the servers running as it is...who wants a rogue peice of code ruining the christmas time server playtime..go back to your isk/complex/t2bpo/mission farming...its just a futuristic space game that does nothing with real life religion.

Just to point out...
For the most part CCP is developed by a 'westernized' country. Such countries are typically Christian and do observe the appropriate holy days.
Likewise, a good many of the legitimate players are also 'western' for the most part, and generally also observe western holidays even if they're not of that particular faith.
Thus, many of the non-macro, non-ISK farming, non ISK-selling players observe this particular holiday as the peak of the season. As such, observing it for the player base is a 'thank you' from CCP for all of its loyal players.
Just because it's not your particular belief, don't stomp on it. We don't generally (mostly because it is not allowed) stomp other viewpoints.
So... STFU and go hide under a rock and let those who observe it do so. Observe other approaches in their own time.

im sorry for my hate mail it wasnt intended as "hate mail" its just those who cannot accept that CCP is a buisness that runs 24 hours A day 7 days a week 365 days a year ..im sure everyone at ccp who has families and friends are celebrating some form of candlemass or christmas at this time. im just pointing out ccp doesnt have to give presents to people at this time of year, its not my fault there are players out there that think they have to recieve uber l33wt goods for spending their money buying subscriptions here..i play many online games and none of the companys i use have celebrated Christmas..they have their own " Rp styled " celebrations.

CCP gave out Snowballs last year (faux combat confusion 4tw!).
CCP gave out a Jovian event the year before.
You are right, it's not like CCP have to give out an xmas gift. But they havent stated that they wouldn't this year. So people are expecting the gifts to arrive, based upon previous years, and are just a but confused/upset that nothing has come this year.
Though CCP have families too at xmas, so I'm not too bothered.
