I did a forum search and couldn't find the answer to my q'n. I've killed like a zillion npc and in my faction window my Amarr sec status is 0.11 What I don't get is which security status is displayed next to the char picture, I expected that once I'd reached 0.1 it would change in my char picture window but it's still 0.0 How is my main sec status worked out? Is it an average of all my faction ratings or do different races see a different security status? eg, if i'm -5 with minmatar and +5 with gallente would a member of each race see a different rating? Help this pooor confused fool

You are confusing the faction status with security status. How the different factions, amarr, gallente, view you is one thing, and how CONCORD (the police) view you is another. Having a low sec status, would mean concord start gunning for you. Having a low faction status would mean the specific faction navy might start gunning for you, while CONCORD not caring.

aha I see. So the displayed security status is the one with CONCORD. Thanks for the reply.

not entirely, sec status is a different beast altogether, it's not based off of faction, not entirely. Killing certain NPC's will change your sec status by a small amount 0.001 or something small like that, some lvl 2 and 3 agent missions' rewards are accentuated by sec status, concord agents give out more of these missions so your sec status is changed faster working for Concord. I don't think sec status changes are mentioned in the mission briefing either, unless I missed something, I stopped reading the entire thing a while a go.

Right. My sec status is 4.0, but none of my factions are that high.

security status is the corporation rating towards CONCORD. The whole thing of doing CONCORD agent missions and getting better sec status is a mistake though and will be removed alltogether. The only things meant to affect sec status is killing NPCs (improving status), or killing players (reducing status). ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU.
