Greetings,
I'm noticing a disturbing trend, that being the number of people who log after jumping through a gate to save their ship. Now I know there is all manner of threads about this dubious tactic, the game mechanics associated with this and the difficulty in policing this increasingly prevelant tactic. So I will spare you from having to hear me moan about any of that. What I do intend to discuss is ceo's who condone this type of behaviour.
The following eve mail conversations were between a Burn Eden pilot and the ceo of Ktaomai Corp a member of the Knights of the SouthernCross.
2006.12.22 06:33 just would like you to know, one of your pilots likes to log off at least 20 times in 2 different systems. Nishka Ki was in a claymore and in several dictor bubbles. and repeatedly logged off and on to get away. even after being scanned down he still continued to log out. id like you to take this matter into your hands and notify SATAN. with your actions. or we'll be forced to name and shame.
2006.12.26 07:58 Here you go Satan, I've taken the matter into my hands and this is what i'm doing with it. NOTHING. You're guy is gonna qq to me that he can't catch my guy to pod him?! Seriously?! Name and shame all you want. Logoffski is a very effective technique to avoiding capture. figure out how to scan him down faster if you wanna shoot at him. Seriously I do not, nor does Nishka, consider his actions foul play or douche baggery for that matter. Don't waste my time with qq-ing. I don't have any tissues -Pasiphae Naxis
As you can see Knights of the Southern Cross obviously condone this type of behaviour. So if you are intending to fight them just bare in mind that they are not above using dubious tactics to win. So untill ccp take the initiative and do something about this, all I can do is identify people who use and condone such behaviour.
Luv Pookie

I would hardly consider logging out an exploit.
I do wish, however, that objects trapped in a bubble obtain a 15 minute aggro timer upon logging and must wait a 1-2 minute reconnect grace period.
the problem isn't that logging ships escape the bubble, it's that one minute after logging out, bubble or not, the ship actually disappears, and you can't scan it down.
Perhaps if you had a recon probe launcher with max scanning skills you could get it almost in time, but min scan time is 27.5 seconds or so? most battleships will spend 15-20 seconds getting into warp, 10 seconds in warp, 5 seconds exiting warp = 30 seconds, leaving you with 30 + 27.5 = 2.5 seconds to warp to the signature and lock down the battleship, oh, and kill it.

The simpliest fix for this... listen up ccp.... might help 8). Make jumping into a system a three minute aggression act. Not too long to wait out and would allow ships to be scanned if they use cowardice to save themselves from thier own stupidity. Also make interdiction bubbles prohibit ships from warping... thats what they are supposed to do so.... make them prohibit ships from warping off! This along with the three minute aggression means no one will long in a bubble again! Problem solved! Have a nice day.

Moot point whether you appear in a different place, logging out INSIDE A BUBBLE to save your ship is still an exploit. Yes, you can be scanned out, but it's very easy to log on and off again till your aggro timer runs out and then just stay logged out.
Combat logging = ***, end of.

Is Burn Eden the only ganking corp in eve?
If we're so invulnerable, how come no one else mimics us and "gets invulnerable" too?
And a final question: If we're so lame, how come we do NOT use logout tactics?

Justin Morgan: I hate to state the obvious but there are 2 eve mails in that post, the first on the 22nd the reply from the ceo on the 26th. Now it wasnt until the ceo responded condoning said actions that we felt it was necessary to make a post.
And I can assure you that logging off in a bubble does still save your ship. As posted by someone else, its impossible to scan down in time.

if you log off just after gate jump, your ship becomes visible after certain time. I am not sure if the ship tries to warp out, but after a minute or two, it dissapears anyway.
so the point is to destroy the ship within 2 minutes.![Laughing](/images/icon_lol.gif) ------------------------------

Not too hard, covert ops can do that in about 40 secs, perhaps 30 with high skills+rigs.
To OP: Stop whining.. nobody cares, and nobody is gonna 'punish' that corp/alliance in any way.. only more and more players in eve are going to use this tactics.. what will you do then? 'name and shame' half of eve? come on, be real...

Aurel...while I agree with the second part of your post I need to say this: Before you ever call someone a carebear how about you come down to their hangout and shoot them and see what happens...nub
Pookie, In response to BE -which this is my personal opinion- dont cry about logging off...while i never have known a KOS pilot to employ such...questionable tactics, It is quite a surprise that BE of all corps will complain to the forums when they cant catch a single ship...come on pookie...I firmly believe your above that. In the years I have known/fought you, I am simply surprised by you being compelled to post such flame-filth. There are certain topics which simply cant be posted without either baiting flames or simply attracting them like one of those bug lights....logoffski's and whatnot are on the top of the list.... ![Rolling Eyes](/images/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Whilst I agree that a UDIE pilot posting about logoffski could be twisted to seem ironic, you have to admit it is becoming an epidemic. I remember when you would get 1-2 logoffs a day, now its becoming more common than not. You might like/hate/respect me/my corp, but you can't deny that this is becoming a serious problem.
If the basis of anyone's response is to flame me bacause of my corp, then you have sadly missed the point of this post. If you can see beyond the corp tag I wear and the preconcieved notions you have about me you will see that this is a significant problem.
