I'm currently running a blaster brutix ratting in 0.0. It's been very successful so far, and I still have quite a lot of training to do before I'm at my full potential with the Brutix. I'm looking ahead though, and wondering if at some point soon I should change ships, and if so, what to? I was originally looking at HAC's, but I'm not sure that those would yield better results than the BC. Anyone have any suggestions? Stick with the Brut? Move to a HAC or BS?

I also realized I haven't looked much into the myrmidon. I guess with the ability to use heavies, that might be my best option until I work my skills up more.

A HAC won't help you too much in terms of killing speed, at least not compared to the risk involved with it in 0.0. I would recommend moving to a myrmidon, crazy tank, or a dominix. If your Gal BS is higher than your BC lvl then go with the domi you can fit in ten heavies plus sentries and meds +a few lights if you get jumped by a ceptor.
With the myrmidon, dont field heavies, go with 5 meds and 5 lights or 7 meds and 1 light. My 0.0 ratting setup for the myrm would be
Highs: 4x Blasters 2x Salvager
Mids: 1x 10mn MWD 4x Rechargers
Lows: 2x MAR II 3x EANM 1x Explosive Hardener
5x Rat Specific Med T2 Drone 5x Lights
Give you god styaing power against any rats and also protects you from roving rats. You can play with the highs if you have a different salvage or dont care about salvage etc.

hmm, thanks for the info...I was thinking something along the lines of 3 heavies, 5 mediums in the myr, so i can have the meds out for smaller ships then bring out the heavies for BSs. You don't think that would be a good idea?

Oh and my current setup is the following...I know the stabs are a bit draining, but I'd rather take slightly longer to kill rats than lose a few hours from getting popped by gate camps.
Hi: 5x Med ions 2x Med nosferatu
Mid: 1x Web 1x 10mn AB 2x Cap recharger
Lo: 1x MAR 2x hardeners 2x warp stab
5 med drones

Just did some research, I guess training caldari battleship to 3 or so really wouldn't take me that long. How many SPs would I have to put into Missle Operation to be pretty effective? Do you think the train time is worth it over using Gallente BSs?

Remember, you would need to train basic shield skills as well if you want to shield tank.
You would do pretty well with just short of a million SP in missiles, basically enough to use torpedoes and you would be good to go! 0.0 rats are not nearly as hard as lvl 4 mission rats, and you have drones to kill the frigates and help with cruisers.
What rats are you killing? Raven allows for versatile damage which is important if you change region and need to go from killing Sanshas to Angels, for example. And don't forget you have 2 spare high slots to use for tractor/salvaging.
Although missile spamming can get boring very fast, Raven is pretty much the daddy-oh for NPC hunting of any kind, and also allows you to fit damage mods AND a full shield tank!

Hmm, not sure I like the idea of a Raven if missles get boring. No reason for me to play the game if it isn't fun. I'm killing Bloods. Tbh, with the setup I'm using now I'm fine, no tank problems really at all except when I'm just too slow to catch the rat before cap is drained. That only happens on double BS spawns when the first one takes a while to kill for whatever reason, and i have 1/3-1/2 cap and the next BS is now 40-50 km away. Essentially only happens when I have to align a time or two during the first BS fight because there's someone in the system that I'm making sure is just passing through.
I may just stick with a Brut or Myr for now, I can easily double my current dps with a few more skills and some slightly upgraded equipment. Would much rather have somewhat interesting combat and be a little slower popping rats.
