So lets say that CCP makes the wise decision and moves forth with implementing the ability to extract, sell, and inject skill points. They disregard the cries of the uninformed, irrational, completely out of proportion rantings and ravings of the immature but loud demographic of entitled children and allow us the ability to sell skill points on the market to be bought by whomever.
Should CCP prevent some skills from being able to receive the benefit of skill injects?
CCP limits the ability of trial accounts to be able to train specific skills because its too much power too quickly.
Do you feel that even though yes, we can now buy skill points, this or that skill should most definitely not be able to be pushed from 4-5? That it's such a powerful ability to unlock that it should most definitely require the dedication of one to suffer through the time to train even though the others are not so much?
Personally, I think Cyno 5 should not be allowed to receive the skill point injects. Like, skill points don't equal skill, which is fact. Some noob flying around null sec in a blinged out Raven he has no idea how to fly that he paid real dollars for is just going to increase our level of entertainment.
But being able to stealthily light a covert cyno? Sure, that guy has no skill and is as dumb as a box of rocks. A black ops cyno is the gate way to let the people who actually do know how to play make use of that dude's bought and paid for retardation.
Any disagreement? Do you have other specific skills with an actual reason you feel should not be inflatable via SP packets?
Do you reading comprehension? Or do you insist on not following guidelines and proving how obsessive and stupid you really are? |

the SP topics covered thus far are nothing but arguments one way or another as to whether or not it should exist.
This thread is different because it's goal is to discuss the HOW regarding it's implementation over whether or not some specific skills, and not the WHY or WHY NOT.
It's done under the assumption that Yes this is indeed going to happen, so lets help CCP do it in a way that we wont look back after it's done and say "you know we really should've limited it here or there". |

No it's not, this thread is just a way for you to hurl insults at all the other people with opinions on the SP selling idea and put forward your own in a place where you can claim that anyone disagreeing with you is off topic. The thread is redundant and reported as such.

Well I guess negative people are going to focus on whatever negativity they can find, letting all the perfectly valid talking points slip on by to appease the imagined affronts to their egos.
One of these days this community will have evolved beyond the point of focusing on the insults others who are in no actual position to lay judgement of their character and will foster solid discussions regardless of how the words used affect them emotionally, for they will not have been affected in the first place.

Well, I'm very much interested in discussing this system so that works out for everyone, rather than moan about it. Any feedback we give on the other threads is just drowned by people who want this idea to go away.
My suggestion for the Skill Packets is Multi-Skill Training.
Instead of recieving the Skill Points immediately after you use a Skill Packet, the unlocated Skill Points could be used to train multiple skills at the same time. This would cut on training time, but without making early skill training entirely pointless.
Up to three or five training slots. The first is based on your implants and attributes, the others are unlocked by Skill Packets and train at a steady rate simuntaneously with your normal skill queue. This would prevent Russian Alluminum Magnates from getting fully trained Titan Pilots in a single day, but it would still benefit newbies and veterans. Being able to recieve the skill set you want at a fraction of the time it would normally take, but wouldn't invalidate the normal skill training.
However, we could still get a Skill Point Reset item, that reset skill points without removing them from your character. DUST 514 has that. |

The majority of the vocal playerbase don't seem to like the proposed changes, you insult them all and then expect a reasonable discussion? Good luck with that.
Look into MMO history, every time changes are made to close the gap between veterans and newbies there's been a drop in subscribers. It killed starwars galaxies almost overnight. So don't just dismiss all arguments because there's a massive uproar. There are genuine reasons to be concerned.
Personally I'm unsure if I like the idea or not. I just hope CCP handle it in a way that doesn't cause a huge drop in subscribers.
On topic: I think restricting some skills would end up being confusing and convoluted. Should be all or nothing. I like the ideas people have put forward to only allow skill trading, not skillpoint trading though. |

Through the general consencous on the forums, I believe you could do the following options and would get the backing of the community.
A.) Skill Extractors:- Extracts the unwanted SP in a particular skill, i.e, Mining level V. Recieving the SP as Unallocated.
B.) All Skill Extractors and SP used can only be used on the same character you initiated it on.
C.) Buy Skill Extractors on the market or purchase through EvE Store. (Profit for CCP)
D.) You sell Skill Extractors in packets, i.e, 5 Skill Extractors for -ú10 *Example*
E.) You Cap the re-distribution amount per month, i.e. 15,000 Sp. *Stop over abusing the system.
Why do this?:
1.) Re-distributing unwanted skill SP into wanted skills.
2.) Re-distribute SP to enhance your characters profile and attractiveness on the Character Bazaar.
3.) CCP Profit.

Bad idea written by a person bad at the game and thinking.
Thread should be deleted because it's redundant.
If you want to argue it's being different than the threadnought in F&I, well then since you're so familiar with that sub and what the threads in there are about, you should have known that sub forum was where suggestions go, not general discussion.
Get good at the game and forums, bad.

the points in pvp to a new player wont make a lot of difference to a skilled pvp pilot oh yes it would , example in wot new player buys tier 8 premium tank he wont have no skill so 9/10 battle he will loose period .
the game has to move on really don't matter 1 way or the other it is a business first and foremost ,example most argue game is pvp and they are right but its a pity the career agent are only pve missions only this I think should have pvp missions so players get used to pvp , but as it stands game is more pointing towards pve then pvp for a new and newer players point of view .
so lets help ccp make the game what it can be even better than it is but changes have to be made so help them rather than hinder |

If I can't start a character and strip all SP and skillbooks from it, then I have no use for this feature.

No removing planetary interaction skills?
No injecting cyno 5 skills?
What else? Why?
Maybe only inject skills up to level 4? Lets reach a happy medium.
Here's an idea.
Make a list of all the skills a new player "shouldn't have".
From this you can deduce a list of skills a new player "should have".
Then.....simply give those skills to every new player upon sign up.

After this you will instead be able to just add to one of your existing alts when you want to do something else.
And quite honestly, it's surprising that CCP are going down this road, which begs the question, what other roads we thought would remain untouched will they go down in search of revenue?

This is basically what I've been saying. CCP has always claimed that they will not allow players to buy SP as they don't want the game to become P2W.
However, they are doing exactly this, but they're scapegoating by putting the players in control of the SP production. So, you need Aurum for the extractor. Aurum requires a PLEX. PLEX can be bought with isk but can ONLY be introduced into the game with real cash. Players have always been against the purchase of SP. They all saw the bazaar as completely different, since there are limitation which have already been mentioned in this thread.
On top of that, my major issue is that CCP's proposed system favors new characters produced by vet players and actually has less benefit to newbros, unless they have plenty of real world cash. Also, I have an issue with the diminishing returns. Since I've spent however long training 65mil in SP, I am now penalized for the time I've invested into my character. |
