Warp Scramblers can be neutralised by Stabs. Is there something similar vis a vis Webifiers ? I'm thinking of getting an Interceptor, but what's the point if anyone with a Webifier can zap my greatest advantage, speed ?
Am I allowed to say that ? |

But the Interceptor's a close-in fighter. If you have to stay further than 10km then effectively you can't fight at all.

That depends on what Inty you are in, and how you have it equipped. Not all Intys use rockets.

Attack things that aren't likely to be packing webbers. Alternatively, fly an Assault Frigate. If you're in an AF they'll be worrying about more than just your speed.
this signature space is claimed in the name of eris, haha I got to him first. neeneer

Also, sometimes it doesn't matter if you're getting webbed. If you're orbiting at 5km/s and get webbed by 90%, then you're still orbiting at 500m/s, usually enough transversal to keep you alive. Just hope they don't have dual webs. --- Real men structure tank.

Fly a long range inty like a crow or outfit yours to be long range and stay out of 10km range. You will depend on your friends arriving shortly to help do the damage, unless you're facing something relatively small. Otherwise you'll need to approach close very quickly, before the web goes in action, as even if you're hit with 90% web, your speed will still mess up the other ship's tracking, unless that other ship is specifically fitted to take on something frig-sized. Remember that with microwarpdrive your signature radius increases 5x so really all you have to rely upon is your speed. And if you don't have nos or cap boosters or the other person has a nos, your cap will run dry and you won't be able to maintain that life-saving speed. Try to stay away from drone ships, especially those with either very small drones bays, as those tend to pack a bunch of light T2 drones, or ones with very large drone bays, as those might carry some spare light T2 drones (but that's not very common) - and you'll do fine with your inty :)

What's become increasingly apparent as I read these posts is that the Interceptor is more or less useless except under very limited circumstances. I'm disappointed, and can only suppose that ccp overlooked this issue vis a vis the webifier. At any rate, I've lost interest and will be looking at the Assault craft as a possible next move.
Thanks for all the advice guys.

Intys are fine, and are usefull in a great many circumstances, solo isnt one of them. ---------------------------

Well, I think that's what, from my own perspective, I was trying to say.

I determined the same thing, as a newer player Interceptors are just not a reasonable goal as they don't perform well solo, and I will probably be solo most of my time doing missions for the next few months trying to get my skills and standing to a decent level.
I am personally now on the path to Assault Frigates. I am aiming for a Jaguar. I have been told it is the best solo PvP ship, and I love how it looks, it is just like a better Rifter, and just as sexy.
