I haven't done any pirating and most of the advice here seems to be focused on empire pirating.
I was thinking of the following tactics for two ships. An interceptor with 2 scramblers, a webber and a MWD; then a BS with a remote sensor booster to improve the intercptors lock time and then a solid tank and lots of DPS.
My idea was to set up right on the gate in a 2 gate system. Watch local with the volume turned up.
If I see a new ship in local and I hear the gate activate I prepare to scramble and web the ship as soon as it decloaks, if I dont hear the gate activate then it must have just entered through the opposite gate so I jump through the gate I am sitting at and wait on the other side, for the target ship to jump through.
I assume that except for other interceptors and most frigates I wont lock fast enough to scramble them. but other ships I will be able to web and scramble
I assume the combo of the interceptor orbiting fast and close with high damage short range weapons and a BS hurling high damage, I should be able to take down another battleship.
I would appreciate any advice or insight you have with using 2 or even possibly 3 ships in 0.0 space.

would be nice if u could do this in 0.0 but for 0.4 to 0.1 ur ceptor would die.

I'm sure it would work fine against lone ships, but the chances are you'll run into gangs a lot if you're in 0.0 with a lot of traffic. And there's not much point camping low traffic areas.

Warp disruption fields in the middle of the system between the two gates? So that you can pull him out of warp tackle him with the interceptor and kill it with the BS?

yes, that is the most ebil of all options! create a BM between the two only gates and place as big a bubble as you can afford. Get some friends together and wait like the spider for its prey to fly into the net. mwuahahhaha theyll never see it coming. 
PS: yes, bubbles are proven to do pull you out of warp now.
