If i were to attack a Minmatar faction cruiser NPC in a 0.9 sec. Would concord come whip my butt or would i just have to deal with the local police ?

If you do it within 60km of a gate or 70km of a station then you will be podded by their guns.
However -
If you do it outside these distances you will be safe, even from concord. As long as its an npc ship that is

Minmatar faction cruisers... hmm..
Are there any faction NPC cruisers or frigates except for Concord ? I don't think so.
If you are talking about NPC faction Industrials, aka. Convoys, then you will have to stay out of range(60-70km) from sentry guns, but you will take hit from the NPC corporation they belong to. Which could mean you getting attacked by sentrys near their station.

I guess those Amarr Navy General armegeddon BS don't count as Faction ships?

My experience tells me CONCORD ships are a lot weaker than navy ships, except for the bugged shield on CONCORD police captains... 15000 on a cruiser.

Well you see my thought is to get a group of cruisers together and attack your factions enemies. Loot could be very good, plus a positive impact on faction standings

I was thinking that too.
But since they are stronger then concord it could be hard. Depends on wether they keep coming in increasing numbers, or chain just like pirates (or not at all ?).

Concord was made stronger, NPC faction ships however are about equal to their NPC pirate counterparts.So a Bellicose/Stabber is the same as a 40-50k cruiser rat, and the battleships would be equal to pirate battleships if such a thing existed.
In other words, check the tread levels and you'll know what you're up against. :)
P.S. If you do form a gang and chain faction ships, let us know what they drop.. its still on my eve 'do to' list.

hmm, no-one done it yet. I'd like to know what to expect when i start a chain of faction navy ships. Will they chain normally or exponentially-like ?
Surely someone has been giving in to the temptation to kill a faction BS ?
If so, please tell me what they drop.

it has been done before and quite often by some pirate types. the consensus is that concord ships drop crap last i heard.

There was a nice rumour propogated on the forums that CONCORD BS drop all of the best loot when popped.
I can still hear the echoey scream of "YOU BASTARD LIARS" when the first couple of pilots tested it out

Took on concord on choas and all they dropped were small 150mm rails, but that was a while ago. So chaos might be a better place to check if they drop good loot (which i doubt).

I decided to attack some Amarr faction vessels with my other character, lost my ship and got nothing as drops from the Amarr faction Armageddons...
