I assume the citadel torpedoes are the best weapon since they only do one damage type, and if you have proper intel you will know which damage type the POS is weakest to. Is this correct, or are guns better?
If torps are better, does this mean the phoenix is more effective than the Naglfar, which has an extra hi-slot? |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Revelation. Badass tanking, excellent damage.
Phoenix is by far the most vulnerable to lag, and not the best for POS sieges IMO, partly because of this.
I've no real experience of the Naglfar, but it looks like it tanks poorly, as well as needing twice the amount of weapon skills. The whole ship just feels every so slightly wrong.
Moros is totally kickass against battleships, but against POSes, the tank is mediocre and the damage is shot to hell by the fact that heavy drones won't touch a POS and Blasters won't reach a Large Tower.

err?
Citadel torps are a very good seige weapon because you can observe your enemy's pos and choose the torps that will do most damage based on its resistances.
All-in-all the dreads are pretty ballanced, all have similar DPS with effective setups and all of them can tank like nothing else, some better than others though.
A little summary:
Moros: Drone bonus makes it excelent for killing off attackers.
Revilation: Best tank, lasers do not run out of ammo.
Naglfar: Torps allow selectve damage and has most wep hardpoints.
Phoenix: Selective damage, coupled with a gangmate with webs and target painters its torps can inflict serious damage on Battleships.
EDIT:

Sentry Drones my friend, Sentry Drones.

For POS warfare :
Pheonix has 2 Bonuses for 3 weapons ( so long as you use kinetic )
Naglfar has 1 bonus for 4 weapons
Moros has 1 bonus for 3 weapons
Revelation has like 2 bonuses for 3 guns
Team Minmatar Carriers need Clone Vats

err...moros can toss out 5x sentry drones, and they pack a rather nasty punch. Not 100% sure they can target a tower even if in range.

Edited by: Tunajuice on 01/01/2007 05:49:49 I think a big question is also, is this on your main account, or a just trained to fly dread account? Because if 90% of my skills are in caldari.. I would train a pheonix just for caldari BS 5, to make the most use of my ROKH, and the skills I already have trained for missles. But if this was a total alt account built just for a dread, I would prolly pick a moros or the amarr one.
Edit - Doesn't really take that much intel to find out what torp hits the best, just shoot one of each :P Maybe you can't fit enough torps of each type in your hold, in which case I guess you would have to go scout it in your pod and count hardeners.

Possible stupid question time: item database says revelation has 250 drone space. Can't it then also use 5 sentry drones?

Any of the dreads can use sentry drones. They all have drone bays over 125 I believe. The moros just gets a whopping 50% drone damage bonus per level.
