I also respect all those who fight and make this game so damn interesting- you are all the people that make this game worth playing.

IAC simply because the way they approach the game riding the tightrope of death.
Putting so many players in such a tight area as Constelation JZV creates one hell of a community spirit, there is no hiding alone in system on your own or corps attempting to keep out of the way, because there is no space to go to.
That means lots of squabbles at times and this keeps passions running high (I tend to think of it in terms of sticking 3 Brothers in one bedroom, at some point your going to fight one of your brothers over something petty, but at the end of the day if anyone has a pop at a brother you know the other 2 will be at your side in a second).
That same compactness also creates a hell of a lot of highs and lows in a short space of time.
IAC are not the best at anything in fact far from it but damn it was fun 90% of the time down there.

They say familiarity breeds contempt - but in my experience it breeds respect. I may be biased but:
1) CVA (seriously I love it). We may be small and we may be RPers but we'll give anyone a good fight (as long as they don't blob us).
2) Ushra'Khan - They may be terrorists but they are probably the most stubborn hard headed bastards in EVE and they give us lots of 'real' FUN fights - even if I hate Fleshdiver atm They are one of the few alliances who don't care about 'stats' and 'efficiency'. Yes, sometimes we **** each other off, sometimes we get frustrated when they refuse to fight (and I am sure they do to) but in general the proportion of reasonably balanced fun fights that we get with UK is higher than with anyone else. They are not afraid to fight outnumbered in defence of their 'motherland'.
3) TSDS - Not for the quality of their pilots or anything other than their godamn tenacity. We kill 'em they come back, we kill 'em they come back. And they 'generally' provide good ol' toe to toe stand up fun fights rather than lame snipey crap. They may lose more ships because of it but it's something that I admire.
4) Outbreak - They know what they are doing and do it well. Utmost respect for these guys PvP skills.
5) BoB - not for the skill of their individuals but for the sheer relentless efficiency of the whole. On a one to one basis I think there are a number of alliances that can match BoB's PvP ability but none can match their organisation, resources and godamn tenacity. If BoB set a target their members will spend every hour of the day making it happen until it happens. While every alliance has a number of very dedicated individuals at its core pretty much all of BoB is made up of psychotically dedicated individuals. It is this that gives them the edge over everyone else in EVE (imho).
6) Mercenary Coalition - For a 'smallish' alliance their influence and capabilities are huge and Seleene et al are great folks...
7) IAC - I love these guys (even if their diplomatic approach does make someone with my uber charisma cringe at times )
8) Every other alliance in the South I haven't already mentioned (i.e. LV, AAA, Shroud of Darkness etc...). Its a backs to the wall kill or be killed sorta place. In my view the 'NAPing Northerners' need to grow some balls. Yes we enjoyed the D2 'roadtrip' but that's about it... FFS start shooting each other or better yet get together an give BoB a run for it's money... Just don't sit their hoarding resources and looking for easy targets...
There are various other alliances/corps out there that I 'respect' for their ability to be a nuisance.
SAS/TC/NSN & Burn Eden spring to mind - all of whom have spent time in CVA space recently. They know what they are doing and do it well. The problem (only in my opinion) is they are all about stats and efficiency and tbh that's at the expense of 'fun'. While some people may have the dedication to sit cloaked in a battleship for 8 hours a day - just to gank the occasional stupid hauler who doesn't pay attention to warnings and jumps in to a camped system - it is in my opinion more about patience than skill (not that they don't have skills - its just they are not properly applied imho).
I am sure these guys get their kicks (and they are damn good at what they do) but it's a selfish kind of fun (again imo). I suppose that was inevitable when all some worry about is getting good efficiency on a killboard. I respect them for their abilities - but I don't respect their approach. OFC that's a very subjective opinion and I suppose everyone (including us) can be criticised for it to some extent...

Speaking about alliances, many people would say BoB, and after fighting them for 3 months I'd agree. If I'd had to choose another alliance, I'd pick RA, because I saw them being reduced to 1 system and surrounded by hostile alliances and now they seem to be doing rather well. 3-rd place would go to ASCN for building an enormous industrial empire.
In corps, I'd pick Outbreak they seem to be top notch PvP corp and respect for that :)

I would only refer to those who still stand and are alive, I wasnt and am not part of them and also not obvious answers like MC and BoB.. so:
Alliance I'd have to say CVA, they keep the course steady, are good pvpers, and os pleasure fighting alongside :)
Corp I'd say 0utbreak, for being a good sport, and being quite challanging :)
Many others there are, but less familiar to me.

IAC for the same reasons as Muadeeb gave, battlecoms on vent were the most horrible i've ever seen in any game anywhere, always someone wanting to be heard and thinking everyone else liked hearing them talk to, d'oh but yea, all in all great guys especially to fight and die with. MC Cos they do have class at the end of the day. AAA Cos everyone is scared ****less of them, and Omeega's sigs win every thread "fac u omees" ASCN The remnants of, for all the crap they've been through. Virii Cos they're a genuine bunch of nice guys, that accepted us as former enemies with a pinch of salt and a lot of good laughs. Alectrophobia (now the Cereal Puffs) Cos of the time they came raiding us and we trapped a few of them in system and Trinity Trixx invited anyone who wanted to go over to their TS, which a few of us did and had a good laugh, that showed class and got my respect, and her corpies seemed like a nice bunch to. Phuze cos she is teh ebil one, and she's got a good sense of humour to Pearl, Demoria and Hellrazer cos they're a tough bunch of bastards you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley who taught us pvp, and cos Demo is one sick cookie, i mean a really sick cookie, he should probably be in a padded cell

PIE Inc. - The thought of their Golden Fleet warping in still makes me hide under the desk and turn off my monitor. PTSD sucks
Snigg - Still, without doubt the finest pirate corporation left in Eve.
Mercenary Coalition - After flying with them on contract, safe to say that they're the most effective merc organisation in Eve.
BoB - Although I'm not fond of their attitude on the whole, they have that attitude for a reason, they posess the most well oiled and advanced war machine in Eve.
Outbreak - Reputation means a lot in Eve, from what I hear this is one of the finest smaller scale PvP outfits around.
Finite Horizon - The remnants of m0o and a few new faces all nicely gift wrapped into a rather nasty PvP outfit.

IAC for their persistence. Maybe we can work for you someday if Tyrax decides we're not actually the devil. Is he the man in charge btw? Never actually looked at your leadership structure to be honest.
FIX. Fun guys to play with for the last two contracts. Solid players that know when to have fun and when to knuckle down for business. One of the very few non MC alliances FC's I'd trust my gear and ass to.
GHSC. I had started playing EVE on my main in 2003 and left 9 months later due to frustration with CCP. Bugs and bad customer service at the time basically. Fast forwards two years and I read some article about some big fracking heist, back stabbing and an epic battle. Rest is history for me. I resubbed in summer of '05 and haven't looked back since. So respect and a big thank you for getting me re involved in this awesome game once again. Cheers.

IAC - Excellent attitude towards the game... and that whole Impoc thing.
Red Alliance - For being beaten back so far and sucesfully turning the tables.
Goonswarm - For coming so far so quickly, I would guess 90% of their members are new characters less than a year old.
Note that these are all southern alliances. This is where all the interesting stuff has happened in the last year. I would like to give a message to the North: DO SOMETHING INTERESTING IN 2007 PRETTY PLEASE

BoB without any doubts, they don¦t just talk, they do it. They say ASCN dies and it dies, they say G dies and it dies.... And they are smart too, they got allies where it is needed, they attack the right target at the right time and so on... They want to play EVE "alliance-style" and they do it to the last consequence. That¦s why i respect them.
I also think that RA deserves lots of kudos for never giving up and turning the situation around. AAA also does a great job and is generally feared and sometimes hated (<-- which means they do the stuff they do well).

Why not =D
IAC - Quite impressive how their little shambles actually seem to turn out in their favour these days.
Finite Horizon - They have been our allies for quite a while now, and flying with them is allways enjoyable due to their skill and calmness in battle. You feel quite small flying next to their skillpoint e-peens at times though =P
Veto - They have indeedy been mentioned before and that's not so strange. Haven't flown with them since they turned mercenaries, but I would lie if I said I wouldn't like to do a contract with them at one point. Very skilled corporation that takes a fight for a fight with very capable members.
Spontaneous Defenestration - These guys are still down to earth fighters unafraid from going into a(ny) fight. There's really just one bad thing to say about them, and that's the fact they're all Swedish =P (mwahaha!)
Xenobytes - Ownage in a nutshell. A pretty big, pointy and incredibly dangerous nutshell. Of doom.
Burn Eden - They do deserve credit. Not only because they annoy so many people, but their fighting capabillity certainly didn't dissapoint me.
I used to enjoy fighting ISSN aswell, allthough there has been little of that lately.
U'K - Never never give up. There's times when there's no fight in them at all, but then as soon as the going actually gets on they'll be all over the place. Good opponents for small-time battleship engagements for certain.
