Hi, I'm working on an industry/research alt. I can't figure out how many jobs max one character can run.
The skill says it adds one job per level, but what is the minimum for an untrained char? |

a base character can run 1 manufacturing line and 1 research line. That research line can be ME/PE/invention/copying, it still counts as 1 research line. Max skills means you can have 11 of each.

Note: You can probably skill up another alt for 10 slots in the time it takes to train for the 11th slot. |

I believe you meant to use the word concurrent instead of consecutive. Consecutive means one after another after another.
Though it doesn't appear to be your question, I might add that you can program a BPO job to run as many consecutive times as you like as long as the total time doesn't exceed a month. When I started out I thought this was limited by the "max production runs" listed on the BPO, but that number is only relevant to making blueprint copies (BPCs). A copy can't have more than that number of runs.
I've noticed others make the same mistake. |

Thanks. Concurrent was the intended meaning.
Shame you can't install more than 11 jobs. I'm doing industry to supplement my trading game. Since you're allowed to place over 300 market orders, I was hoping I'd be able to manufacture the several varieties of items I'm trading.
Oh well. Doubt I'll end up making another alt, because then I would also have to train production effeciency skills and stop my training on the current alt. I don't think it's worth it to buy another account for either. |

I don't think it's worth it to buy another account for either. As I stated above, stopping training to train an alt is not necessarily a bad idea.
Example:
* Advanced Mass Production 4 to 5 = 1,685,960 SP for 1 extra slot
Or train an alt:
* Industry 4 (rank 1) = 45,255 SP * Production Efficiency 5 (rank 3) = 768,000 SP * Mass Production 5 (rank 2) = 512,000 SP * Advanced Mass Production 4 (rank 8) = 362,040 SP
Total = 1,687,294 SP for 10 extra slots.
Difference = 1,687,294 SP - 1,685,960 SP = 1,334 SP more training for 10 extra slots.
Similarly for Advanced Laboratory Operation 5. |

ofcourse you will also have to train science/construction skills on said alt if you plan on making tech 2 stuff and such.

those month will pay off fast though, much faster than 1 last slot training.
i'd only do that if all 3 characters are already maxed at everything relevant. |
