Just a question...do these skills take effect with ANY passive hardeners on a ship? e.g. on my ship i have 2x EANM2's and 1x energized thermic membrane1.
ive got all the compensation skills trained to lvl1 (yes, i just got them :P ), but im just wondering if they are worth my time, because so far i havent seen any increase in my resists when i moved from lvl0 to lvl1...

Train them up to 4 :)), they are full of meaty goodness for any armor tanker.

They're bad for a command ship because you did not train some pretty basic skills. By that I mean that you should have trained armor compensation skills way before you trained command ships and BC V. It's almost as bad as not having trained engineering or electronics V.

Edited by: Marn Prestoc on 01/01/2007 16:47:36 Well whatever your armour/rep amount is times it by 5 (well 5.06329114 to be accurate) to give your effective average hp/rep amount.
If you were to raise your average resistance from 80.25 to 83.2 you would have 6x the hp/rep amount. Not sure if going from level 1 to level 5 in comp skills would do that much but hopefully it will put the resistance into perspective for you.
So a T2 MAR which does 320 hp per 9 secs (35.5 hp/sec) would do (with your current 5x) 1600 effective hp per 9 secs (177.7 hp/sec) and with 6x it would do 1920 hp per 9 secs (213.3 hp.sec).

Definately train them up. Until you do you may be better off with active hardners (kin, expl, therm).
With reasonable skills you are looking at mid-to-high 80's to low 90's with your current set-up.
