Being purely missile based till now I feel its time I started branching out & looking at gunnery, can someone please point me to a guide. What with all the different types of turrents available I am a bit lost as to what to train.

Well you are playing Caldari - Online, so stay with Railguns and train up for the Rokh. It outshines all other Battleships when it comes to long range fights. 425mm Railgun II should be your goal, even if by the time you can use them theyll cost more then the ship itself.
I wonder why im staying with amarr, three fleet ships and all three worse then Rokh...

Lets see...
Option one: Shoot it with turrets
Put ammo into gun. Lock the target. Check transversal, if possible try to align with target so that transversal will be as slow as possible. Shoot target. Notice that target is now at your falloff. Spend 20-ish seconds changing ammo to better one. Shoot target. Notice how target either warps off or come too close for you ammo blessed with tracking penalty to hit. Spend 20-ish seconds changing ammo to better one. Shoot target. Notice how you actually hit with 3/5 shots because the chance-based system doesn't like you.
Option two: Missiles
Load missiles. Lock target. Shoot missiles.
...yeah. If you want challenge, you should get to turrets. Sure turrets do more damage theoretically but this isn't Excel Online where everything happens by some exact set of numbers

Im wondering why all people belive in the myth that guns do more dmg than missles on paper?
250mm Railgun II rof: 6,38s dmg: 3,3x ammo: antimatter 24, range -50% == 12,41dmg/s @14km kinetic/therm only 1,5cap/s used per gun
Heavy Missle Launcher II rof: 12s dmg: 150 range: 3750m/s * 10s == 12,5dmg/s @ 37,5km all dmg types 0cap/s used per Launcher
Less dmg my a$$

no missle ever hits an inti going 7km/s for any damage worth mentioning. Truth be told, guns are a lot harder o use. they get the job done where missles can't however.

Well I would like to try something other then Caldari ships or even fill the 2 last high slots on my Raven for better dmg. Will look into the 425mm as seen these talked about quite a bit..only 69 days according to evemon for the T2

As a turret user I have to say that I of course, like them. However I have all the gunnery support skills maxed so it makes it easier with tracking etc. You absolutely must have skills like motion prediction to get anywhere with larger guns.
