The original vision for Kali has been split up over 3 (so far) separate content patches and spaced out over a year.

Edited by: Jowen Datloran on 01/01/2007 22:38:30 I predict:
They will aim for February/March but it will be released in June/Juli.
Third part of Kali will be released sometime in 2008.
EDIT: Rethinking how much stuff that was released half implemented in Kali 1 and needs sorting our during January and February, August is a better prediction for Kali 2. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

wrong wrong wrong wrong. Revelations is Codename KALI, which is split up in 3 parts, read the devblogs about it, RMR is a release by itself. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Xaroth Brook Brainiac of Doomcraft |

Something like "Every whine = 1 week of extra 'development' - I think Kali 2 is now slated for 2010.

RMR included several features that were originally slated for Kali, so could be seen as the first portion of Kali being deployed.
In reality, there is no such thing as Kali anymore - it's a big pie that's been divided up into several slices, which are being fed to us one after the other at the moment. |

Wrong.
the three parts for kali are:
Kali part 1 Kali part 2 Kali part 3
RMR and Bloodline stuff are not part of Kali.
What we got a few months ago, which, incase you missed, was the launch of Kali, is the first part, not the third.
At some point they wanted Kali's 3 parts to come out early 06 late 06 and mid 07. I suspect part 2 will be late summer of 07, and part 3 will be late spring/early summer of 08.
And TOTALHELLDEATH will be sometime in 2010.

I think it is a matter of them growing too quickly. That reorganization period should soon level out to everyone knowing their jobs and the code. As long as employees are lifers (in tech time that's about 3 years) they should be able to ramp up production.
I am, however, disappointed by the lack of simple bug fixes and clarifications about main features (gang stuff, gas harvesting, mail bug, website updates, etc, etc). Perhaps January will bring results from the recent restructuring of the company. ______________________________________________________ I forget which station container has my memory implants. |

i dont think so, errm since when have you heard of some game coder (whatever tehy are called) come along to the card game design bored and write's some code to make them work and im pretty sure that applys to the card game makers/designers who also go along to help ccp fix some bugs and stuff Hypnotic Pelvic Thrusting Level 5 |

Where's my macro for replying to these kinds of statements...

I hope that before they do Kali 2, they work on the following:
- Turret vs missile balance - Capless weapon vs cap-using weapon balance - Rig balance - Shield tank vs armor tank balance - General stability of the game (server side and client side)
It's great playing Caldari-online, isn't it?

Each content batch slated for roughly a year got its own name.
The feature blob for 2005/2006 was called Kali.
Since the Chinese server development did have a massive impact on the development of Kali, the original plan for one year (2-3 content patches) is now spread over more than 3 years and might easily reach a 4-year lifespan.
RMR has been the first part of Kali with alliance and ship content, preparing for more features around sovereignity and factional warfare.
Blood added more faction warfare preparation with the new bloodlines. These were meant to become factions on their own (This plan probably got dropped). That it worked out pretty nicely with the start of the Chinese server nearly is coincidence.
Revelations added more alliance toys (new regions, boosters, exploration) for the factional warfare and something (salvaging) for all the rest (~80% of the customers). ccp has more than twice the #employees, but much less content development speed than 2-3 years ago. Kali had been planned to be finished with the end-of-year content patch 2006. The plan was to have factional warfare active right now.
Remember that technical changes like Vivox, Dragon Code and the redesign of client, grafic, escrow/contracts, market ... are not part of the content blocks. They might come in the same patch, but the development is separated from the content development. --*=*=*--

RMR and Bloodline stuff are not part of Kali.
Since you failed to read my post properly, I said the original vision for Kali.
Hell, Blood was supposed to be part of RMR but got separated out into a separate content patch.
I'd argue the point further with you, but Tachy is more knowledgable on the subject and far more eloquent.

Blood was Blood, RMR was just that. Kali Part one was just released. There will be two more parts. BLood ANd RMR are not part of Kali.
