I can't remember if there's a default drone range.... Details have been lost in the latest round of survival of the fitest brain cell competition.
My brain is telling me it's 5km base +5 per level for scout drone skill, so you'd get 30km range at skill lvl 5. Or is it just +5km per lvl of skill for a 25km max?
Ewar drone skill gives only +3 per level... How do I work it out for them 5 +3 per lvl or just 3km per level?
Obviously discounting drone navigation skill etc etc.
Thanks

Edited by: NoNah on 02/01/2007 03:04:42 20 + (Level of Scout drone operations * 5) + (EW drone level * 3) + (Drone Link Augmentors online * 20 )km
Thus, with no skills 20 km, with Scout drone trained, 45km, with EW trained 60. Maximal range of 220km if Im not all wrong. Not counting Carriers obviously.
Applies to all drones. Sentry drones range are affected by drone control range. Thus if you have a max control range of 45, you wont be able to order them to attack anything beyond 45km, even if their gun range is way longer and they stay right next to your ship. Not quite sure if this would mean they in theory got a max range of 440 km, but seeing how its impossible to get their guns to reach that far anyway, even if you could target that far wich in itself is pretty doubtful.
No other ways of extending range as of now.

Default Drone range is 20km. Scout Drone adds 5km per lvl which will yield 25km at lvl 5 for a 45 km range.
EW Drone Interfacing adds a further 3km per lvl to this with a max of 15km added for a maximum total drone range of 60km.
Add a Drone link Augmentor for a further 20km, and add an Ishtar with HAC lvl 5 and you can sit back and send your boys out to 105km
To sum up:
20km base + 25km Scout Drone + 15 EW Drone + 20km Drone Link Augmentor + 25km Ishtar with HAC lvl 5 = 105km
Now, don't forget to add a sensor booster in your setup so you can actually target things at that range

PS Drone Navigational skill only affects drone velocity

You're right about the sentry drones, but how did you arrive at 220km range and in what ship did you do this?

All in theory of course. 20 + 25(Scout ops) + 15(EW interfacing) + 8 * 20 (8x Drone Augmentors) - 220km.
Any BS with 8 hislots should be able to do that. 400 CPU issnt that much. Then however - note that I have not tested it, nor seen any reason to go for it. =)
