Hi! My name is Nightfang, ex-pirate of the recently disbanded TLBC. Now freelancer pirate. In real life I am a student of molecular medicine but also a novelist, hence I felt like coming to the forums and telling my story to those who might find it interesting.
In June I was born, up till the point I joined TLBC I was a freelancer miner/drone producer. The pre-TLBC era was a pretty dull time now that I look back on it, so I will not give it much room here.
One day after I had left just another goalless mining corporation (Draconis Industries) I decided I would try some PvP out. I was contacted by Tyrenical from TLBC and got to join the corp.
As most of you know, but as some of you may not know, TLBC was a pirate corporation based in Syndicate. We were rivals with m0o and Sinister who were camping FD-MLJ / PF-346 while we at TLBC were based in RF-GGF and roamed Syndicate / Outer Ring. The life of the roamer was thrilling, and TLBC was the best corp I had ever been in. The leadership was great and there was no pressure put at any member to do anything - all members were free to play as they chose to.
I quickly found a nichÚ camping in PF-346 just past the m0o blockade. It was risky, for both my prey and m0o/sinc were lethal enemies, but I managed to gather enough stolen money (or "rare client loot" as I like referring it to) with the help of the TLBC to eventually upgrade my Thorax to a Scorpion.
Then came the time of the first alliance. TLBC allied with Space Wolves and the Fatal Shadows with the common goal of controlling Syndicate from 2P -> Outer Ring. The campaign was a success, but my true goal was the bear in the east - m0o, the corp of legends who were controlling our door into Empire space. We had occasional skirmishes with them, but nothing serious.
Eventually the time of the first alliance ended as talks were being held with m0o/sinc about a non-agression pact as the FA had grown stronger and it was in our both common interest to help each other. For me this was ideal as I liked hunting around PF-346 anyway, now it became even better after the signing of the NAP.
The war against the FA was however lost, and Sinister as well as our old allies Fatal Shadows and Space Wolves moved down to the political wasteland called Curse.
All that was left in FD-PF was now m0o and TLBC. The alliance was a natural move, and it didn't take long for the once roaming TLBC members to realise the comfortable benefits of the chokepoint gatecamper. TLBC effectively moved to FD-MLJ.

It remained like this for a very long time. The FA eventually tired and began sending down strike teams. During this time I also got the idea of how to fool people into buying battleships via courier missions.
I made quite a lot of money from Hoarders with names such as "El Scammo" and "Wallet-defattyfier", and GM's even commended me on the creative thinking at first. Until, of course, it went out of hand and a victim decided to begin hastling the source of the CCP office itself. GM's asked me to stop, so I did. I might be an immoral scammer, but no exploiter.
Meanwhile things were getting rough in FD. FA strikes were becoming more common and heavier for each passing day, and the m0o/TLBC began fighting fleet battles instead of resorting to what we did best - piracy. I decided to stay out of this after I was called to arms one night, resulting in my shiny new uninsured Tempest (as shiny as a Tempest can get) being massacred at the FD-MLJ JIP by a FA fleet. Faramir got my corpse, the bastard nemesis .
Weeks passed and c0w was formed as the still active members of m0o felt they couldn't function without a CEO. c0w/TLBC continued business as usual, except for when locked down by the FA.
It was only a matter of time before it all would crumble. The TLBC leadership, under the pressure of battling the FA, started recruiting heavily. This was also what would cause our downfall. We became fat and disorganized, overpreying on an already dying region. Being three battleships at a gate is neither fun nor profitable when all that passes is a stray cruiser every other hour. And it made us a fatter target for the FA.
Meanwhile I learned of a great Syndicate trade route from a guy who payed weekly tribute to c0w/TLBC. I began exploiting it instantly, as well did many other c0w/TLBC.
Eventually the glorydays of the TLBC came to an end when the directors felt it had all gone beyond their control. Well, not really, but the situation demanded more of them than they were willing to give up. And I perfectly understand them for that, as they all know.
As the inevitable happened me and the directors joined the original m0o, who had now moved down to Curse to aid their old Sinister allies. It took me about two days to realise the hypocritical life of the alliance member was something I didn't want to endure, so I left and headed back to Syndicate.
I was greeted with Miz Cenuij from c0w who had decided all old allies who were not aligned with Sinister / m0o had to go. Including me. I couldn't care less until Miz actually put his threats to reality and took hostile measurements of my Bestower.
I can understand how cutting an old, used up, ally's throat can fill a purpose, but some actions are merely more stupid than the average. I was an old ally, still honouring the past friendship with c0w, when being fired upon. Which left me no choice but to show them the error of that decision.
That leaves me where I am today. I have fought besides most of c0w's members and know all of their tactics. Most importantly, I also know from where they get their money.
As I said, cutting an old ally's throat can serve a purpose, trying and failing to can get out of control. If it happens remains to be seen.
Happy EVE-ing, folks! /Nightfang

And are you the same Nightfang who was busy mining ores in 0.4-0.1 space when I began playing EVE back in August - if so then I did the right thng by leaving the corporation you were supposedly the CEO of, back then... being a low-life has never interested me much... - hehe.

Edited by: Tibor Ferenc on 30/11/2003 03:38:49 Nice read Fang. Im sad to hear how you have been betrayed. I would not of expected this from c0w as we fought alongside them on many occasions. I know that I for one would never of attacked one of my old allies/friends without provokation. I see that as beneath me.
I wish yo all the best Fang and if there is every anything I can do for you contact me in-game.
TF. m0o.
btw. as for Fang as an EVOL spy you must be ******* retarded. http://mmogcenter.com/tiborsig.jpg

But I'm an FA spy. I give them information in 'Fountain Chat'. It's weird that they tell me to leave or they'll file petitions and they don't sell me hunting passes. Not even in Stain.

Keep on flaming, lamers.

Thanx for the feedback, guys. I appreciate not being flamed for the pirate life I chose to lead ;)
And as for Negotiator, who seems to be a great guy judging by his forum posts, I have but one thing to repeat:
Quote: As I said, cutting an old ally's throat can serve a purpose, trying and failing to can get out of control. If it happens remains to be seen.
I'm amazed c0w became so vividly upset when they found me harassing one of their trade routes and got to one of them on their way home...

"Sorry" to hear that, Demitri. I never intentionally used drones for the sake of actually creating lag, only kept them out for alertness sake.
Peace out! /Nightfang

Tibor, TLBC members were given several choices. One was to join m0o. The other one was to join c0w. THe third one was to get out of our space. Nightfang is probably the only one that had any problems with c0w after TLBC disbanded.
NIghtfang, plz stop the empty threats okthx?

I didn't have any troubles with c0w - I just didn't respond well to Miz Cenuij's threats in the old alliance channel to join or be killed. You were there, you should know the story behind it.
And I wasn't the one firing the first shots, you (c0w) did. I ain't threatening; I'm merely stating. Attacking someone who knows your tactics can turn back on you.
Have fun out there

Lol - you gonna turn this into a post bent on flaming yourself?
Anyways, the point of this thread was not to discuss petty politics, but to give an insight to those who might be actually be interested in piracy from the pirate's view.

Nicely written Nightfang, Enjoyed reading every word of it. When I was new to eve I lost my ship and pod to m0o at a JIP, and I have been looking for my corpse for a long time I would really appreciate it if you know the whereabouts of my corpse. If you have any information will greatly appreciate it.

Good read, Nightfang.
It's very interesting read up on the history of the region me and my corp have somewhat recently moved into, doing that "same old, same old" of pirating on the steady traffic through the area. It's a rough neighbourhood, since when m0o isn't out there camping, it's CELES (or other pirate-hunter) fleets scouring the systems for us.
Of course, all of that just makes it interesting and between these old titans, we manage to make profit and prosper.

You talk about betrayal yet only 2 days after you left m0o you were attacking m0o indies. I hope Miz pods you tbh (You did a good job leaving m0o when you did because I think Rev was gonna kick you out anyways).
Anyways, whenever Ive been in FD-MLJ or PF-346 you never ever come out in your bship you just hop in a frigate/interceptor and think its great because I cant shoot you, please grow a pair before you talk about your glorious career in piracy...
