well i'm looking into a jaguar set up. my current set up is a passive shield set up which is very good. THIS IS STRICITY A PVE SHIP. it won't last 10 seconds in pvp, welll except against noobs.
highs: 3 125mm autocannon II 1 rocket laucher
mid: 3 shield hardeners (amplifier) [fit this according to the mission damage type. but i use 2 kinetic and 1 explosive.) resistant 75/73/71/60 1 medium subordinate screen stabilizer I
low: 3 shield power relay
my total shield recharge rate is 5.6953125/sec
I have completed most lvl 3 mission for fun in this ship. but it is just slow cuz the cargo can't hold all my items. it is ver easy doing lvl 3 mission in an af. sooo any suggestion as to how i can improve upon this set up?

Highs/Lows depends on if u want tank or gank so personal preference.
Mids i would suggest something like this:
1x AB II 1x hardener (kinetic amplifier, active kinetic, invulnerability field) 2x Medium Shield Extender II
AB makes u harder to hit which means less damage taken.
The hardener is mission-dependent. Kinetic for Gurista/Serpentis.
But running an Invulnerability Field shouldn`t be a problem with 1-2 PDU in low, so that is a good option.
Extenders add HP strangely enough which creates passive regen and a HP buffer for u to take down NPCs to reduce incoming damage.
This is my lazy attempt to make an uber-signature, please go away!

i'm sorta confused about the AB. doesn't that increase your sig radius, and thus make u easier to hit?

Only MWDs increase sig radius while active...I believe once you break 6100m/s though you actually can laugh at most missile damage due to explosion velocity...
Omg, Dark Shikari got pregnant with the forums!

just playing with quickfit I see this as being alright for PVE
3x200mm AC2 1xAB2 1xF-S9 Extender 2xAMP2 (kin/therm/etc) 1xPDU2 2xGyro2
pretty nice damage, a mediocre 11 shield/sec regen, good resistence, and good speed

that okay :)
even if you get nossed your still very hard to take down, the nos providing enough cap to run the ab and scram.
I almost beat an ishkur 1v1 with this, and thats no bad thing.

Ifn u r a bit crazy on setups it is possible to get 3 200mm AC T2, 2 xtender T2 a gist ab, a scrammer and a nos going, u only need to fit 2 named powercores, afaik k-xhausts. Oh, and a shield power relay.
Quite a nice tank, have tried it and it works very well - downside is you could buy a tier 1 bs for what it costs. |

How can a setup with hardeners be "passive"? You need cap to run them therefore surely they are "active" and your shield tank relies on an active component?
Pure passive would be extenders with Shield Power Relays wouldn't it?

well there r two type of hardeners, active and passive. and i guess most of us would use a passive one (amplifier) if it is a passive shield tank.

He's asking for pve... forget the scram and fit something else... Also you dont need all this cap. For pve... I'd pull the scram and fit a designated passive hardener.
Dr Fighter, I have a similar pvp setup, tho for more dmg... You should have killed that ishkur... Pull a pdu out, put 2 mapc and a gyro... Fit a web and a rocket launcher, not a nos. Pity the fool |
