Does this really do what the name implies....
An unguided nuclear warhead designed for use with heavy assault launchers. Heavy assault missiles can be fired at a greater rate than heavy missiles, at the expense of effective range.
If so. WTF is the points of an unguided missle? targets are RARELY ever sitting still. ------------------------------------------------- Long Range |

F.O.F missiles? Good for when somone scrambles your lock. Instead of just sitting there hoping they won't be able to scram you again you fire them off and they pick their targets themselves. Though they are a bit unreliable from my experience..

They are still guided. Read the description for torpedoes, they're unguided too. It's just a RP description to justify giving them short range and slower velocity ----------------- One word,, emo,,,

Rockets, heavy assault missiles and torpedoes are considered unguided.
The skill for the reduction of sigradius effects doesn't work on them. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

qft
The "unguided" part of rockets, hams (sometimes bacons too) and torps is just there so that "*guided* missile precision" skill doesn't work on them
no point to it if you ask me, but oh well...

No, "unguided" don't have built in guidance systems. The ship directs them. The "guided" missiles have their own navigational capabilities, but also need a lock, so they know what to go after. FoF's don't need a lock at all, they just fire randomly at somebody locking/aggressing/whatevertheymadeit-ing you. -----

In my experience, it's more like FoFs fire at friend/gangmate/your drone/buddy's drone/structure/asteroid that looked at you funny/enemy.
In about that order too...

To my thinking, an 'unguided' missile is something like the early rockets used by the chinese, or even more recently the unguided rockets fired from the apache gunships. You aim them and light them off and forget about them, no guidance systems (hence the term unguided). If these missiles really were ungided, then maybe they should be on a similar hit/miss algorithm to turrets, as they are being aimed in the same manner. But I can see why they called them what they did, in order to justify the mechanics that were created for them. -=^=-
