Worst.
Christmas.
Ever.
Having recently moved house, I had to get the winternet setup there. Good ol' BT Broadband as my ISP and their new wireless hub package. So I ring them up and they say there's some connection lock on the line due to the old ISP supplying this house, and that it may take up to 2 months to remove it 
I re-call them, get a different service person, and they say 3 weeks, so I think that's more reasonable.
I wait 2, but begin to twitch due to lack of eve and too much family, so I ring them again. Shazzam, they take the code off in 30 seconds and send the hub package. 1 week later I'm now back.
/me puts on his flame-retardant suit 
Oh, and what's changed in the last 3 weeks. I heard that BoB raped ASCN and Cyv0k got logoffskipwned with his avatar

Well there goes the neighbourhood, but welcome back in any case.... need some new entertaining threads such as "lofty killed my 10bil CNR, he's a ebil exploiting griefer..."

ISPs. Gotta love it.
I'm likely going to be migrating to a different service soon (probably Be* 24meg in April, when my exchange is *supposedly* enabled)
Bet it feels good to be back though, from such an absence :)

I had a similar problem
Rang up ISP to get broadband. They said the line already has broadband, and to call BT.
I ring BT, who tell me that it's the ISP responsibilty to sort it
I ring up ISP who give me a BT number to ring
I ring this number, and BT tell me that it's only for use by ISP and to get the ISP To sort it
so, I ring up ISP again, who assures me that I do need to ring BT on this number
So, I ring up and I finally get through to someone who has an IQ above 7. It seems they recently moved onto a new system for dealing with old connections, and not everyone is clever enough to understand the concept of change...

Good to see people still remember. Im not sure if that system works anymore, and I've moved to lowsec, so no more of those threads  Might try to re-popularise the pod-or-post tho

We did that a while (months) ago. Then they made it against the rules and locked every single one
