Hi I am curious how other industrialists build ships and make a reasonable profit. I am a little stuck and could do with some hints. I know most players keep it a secret, i respect that, just some pointers would be nice thanks

Do you have a more specific question?
- Mining is a good start plus related refinery skills to maximise the amount of minerals you get from mining. - Production Efficiency skills to reduce the mineral requirements of BP's - Research to further improve the BPO or buy a researched BPC. - Buy orders for minerals below the usual sell price which can take longer but can save money

1. Location, location, location. I can't emphasize this enough. Having a good location to sell from is key.
2. Diversity. Have a diverse line of ships. Sticking with 1-2 types of ships might give you better margins, but you'll lose out on the volume. You'll make more isk on a diverse line and the income flow will be more even.
3. Complementary Sales. Ask yourself, if I were to buy this ship, who would I be and what modules would I want? As an example, if you're selling a Gallente frigate, odds are that your customers are going to want to fit it out. There are good odds you can sell hybrid guns (and ammo), some light drones, 1 mn burners and mwds, small armor and hull repairers as well. While the isk for these secondary sales isn't as large as the ships, the margins are often better. They'll make the overall ship sale more profitable. They'll also attract more customers to buy your ships as you've provided them with a 1 stop shopping point.

thanks for your kind response, my aim is sell a wide range of goods that will appeal to players, I agree that a one stop point is essential.

One trick is to learn where to place your buy orders. Roam around the systems close to your manufacturing base and visit the belts, watch the activities. If you find a good mining population, place a buy order and watch how fast it gets done. Miners also move so do this often.

I am not really an industrialist more of a pirate actually. Make sure you provide most of the basic mods for fitting. I HATE doing a lot of jumps just to outfit a ship and am more than willing to pay more for modules if I don't have to go all over the universe therefore try to provide these modules as best you can. --------------------------- Aimez- "oh ****, this is empire......."

I completly forgot about this part of selling ships. My corp recently invested in a Harbinger BPO and we just put the first 3 ships up in a trade hub. I use a Harbinger regulary sence they were introduced and I know what type of fittings I like to use.
It's amazeing the little tidbits you can pickup in random post. -------------------------------------------------- EvE is a sand box. Build a sand castle and beg someone to come destroy it just so you can have the fun of building it up again.
