this the first time I ever heard of something like this. I know at one time I seen on the site that Dragon Age or Dark Age I think it is was going to make a TV series of it, but that was like 4 or 5 yrs ago I think. Sadly to say it never happen even after they made a trailer for it. |

Only if it is less generic than the Blizzard trailer (which gives me little hope for the film).
It was the most clich+¬ trailer I've seen for a long time. Nothing new in it, just pretty VFX and a crap storyline. I'm really at a loss at why people are so excited over it. I suppose it's the IP it's attached too. |

NPC pirates have no real lore

The player base drives new players out.

I can see it now, the vastly zoomed out battle scenes of epic fleet clashes (which is still better than the usual "space ships pretending to be sailing boats" trope) and the opportunity for solid character development in those intense personal exchanges alone in a captains quarters.... |

I won't discuss about WoW knowledge and knowledge base and so on here since the thread subject is about an EVE Online Movie, from CCP, with a Please attached to it (attached to the subject that is).
So, there are a few fan made movies and a few CCP Trailer or short clips or short films about EVE Online.
I didn't read the 3 books, and I suspect that there is more to it since it does take storyboards to make books or some form or structures.
Some of the reason I mentioned Interstellar is because that it did relate to EVE Online although the movie is not about EVE Online.
So anyways, CCP does have a lot of material which they created material on, actual blue prints for many of the items ingame which did change over time in names or other btw.
There are other effects which they own right to the production, authorship, creation and imagination of in regards to stories that are unfolding.
They also have live tournaments , even the cloning systems change and the changes in the Empire Faction control of Regions , constellations and systems.
But the point is, will they make an actual commercial movie, beside the hundreds if not thousands of documentaries that are produced on EVE Online.
Remember that EVE Online is designed to integrate competition and as such is not only a RPG or PvE type of competition that is locked in a rigid framework.
Players and participants outside of the CCP company (and inside as well, although not published, and to limited extent ) affect the competition in great parts of EVE Online game play.
I don't know how many of those Players would be integrated in a commercially released movie?
One movie in which players are not directly related to the business, even though 3rd parties also get licensed to a certain extent. |

No lore? Eve has some of the most well developed and richest lore of all the video games. Some might have more novels, such as halo and does WoW have novels? Even putting aside the canon fiction, eve's player driven environment has made for some of the best inspiration and events for fiction.
I could fill multiple books with fiction based around my experience sansha incusion live events alone.
In the meantime, for newer players, there are three good shows about eve made. Look up the "Clear Skies" saga.

No, it doesn't, it's backstorys are SHORT storys, not once was there detailed info on what happened when the WH to NE collapsed. Just "from that time 4 empires rose"
How? Who did it? What happened? What storys could we have told to us?
