Mainly in low sec I guess not 0.0.
Just wondering what is recomended here for the one who is creating it for thier surviablity.
As I understand it the one who creates it(me) will be stuck there for 10 minutes. So if I'm trying to move my Corp M8 around in low sec is it best that I creat one near a gate or station that way if someone attacks me the gate/station guns can provide some protection for me until back up arives, or should I just creat it at a safe spot even though anyone can warp to me?

i`m making my cyno fields at the station for docking reasons
when i had to move the ship around, just used a frigate with enough for 1 cyno field at a station with crap services(not many use it) have it wait till the field collapses and then jump on
allready had the pleasure of scaring 1 prat away when he warped to the station at sniping range due to the carrier jumping in at the same time he arrived, didn`t knew how fast to bug out 
u can also do it at an ss, have him wait till it collapses and kill anyone who arrives and is a threath

be carefull at gates... there might be some bs's jumping in that rly like the idea of killing a carrier... =) (bs's can tank gate guns)

Its my understanding that cyno chars are pretty expendable. I wouldn't want to do it with me for that reason. You are stuck there until the field wears down.
A couple of things..
The caldari archura start up char in the science vein can start with electronics 4 (no chars can start with V i believe do to the recyclable nature of cyno alts, might be wrong) a few days (9?) training will put you to V and 9m for the skill and you have what you need. Doing this will keep you in a basic clone (under the sp limit for new clone) so being killed after/while/before the field is up only puts you out cost of ship/generator and fuel.
Most people Ive seen will field right outside a station. This allows the ship to jump in and dock, and undock again with full power for another jump. Makes moving quicker.
If you aren't in a hurry, you can jump and then deploy shield log drones on your cyno char and just wait for the field to dissipate. A good frig (lots of meds w/ a bit of power core) can fit extenders for added shields, increasing your chances. Its not like you are gonna go fighting with it anyway, so the sig penility is moot. Fitting a remote shield xfer on your cap and jumping in is also a possibility.
Remember tho, the alts cheap, the carrier/dread/MS isn't, so if faced with a BS gang in your target system its better to either wiat to jump, if you can, or jump and then dock up with the cap ship, and say good bye to your cyno alt.
Make sure you have multiple ships/generators and fuel at your stop over. Nothing is worse than being in the middle of a move and having to scurry around to get more stuff to jump cause your one alt got owned outside a station.
Bring friends. Easy targets like cyno alts are not so enjoyable to your weak haerted ganger when theres a support group there. Ten mins of time from your friends is worth paying for, vs loosing the time involved in re-deploying an alt and equipment, or worse, your cap ship...
Jump at DT/UT. Less people = greater chances.
For deep space jumps, get your alliance/corp involved. Oh and don't scrimp on fittings.... Nothing is worse than seeing a cap ship's kill mail with T1 stuff on. You spent that much on a ship, go the distance and keep it around a while. Officer/named/T2 or don't fly it at all...

Another good trick, if you have the choice, is of course, do jump to a POS. And if someone is stupid enough to warp to the cyno, they get blown away by the uber POS guns. :)

Thanks for all the info.
I know I'll probably be doing alot of test on testserver before we get to that point. Anyway thanks very much and any and all information is welcome.

This sounds like fun might have to give it a shot :). See what people are nosing around in the sytem we plan on moving our capital ship into.
