Following the plex spawning changes in the Crucible expansion (i.e. plexes spawn throughout the day, instead of after downtime), it seems that Factional Warfare is steadily reawakening...
The Minmatar took Huola (the main Amarr staging system) last week, and the battle was on this weekend for the Amarr to retake it.
Damar Racarion, the ex-PERVS plexing dude from the Caldari militia, started off the fun by leading a post-downtime fleet that captured a load of plexes in Huola, Auga, Dal and around throughout the weekend.
All the main Amarr corps (Wolfsbrigate, Zero Heavy Industries, Seraphim Rising, SBA, TMFED) where there in good numbers.
Houla eventually went vulnerable, and a big fleet pounded the bunker until it fell, and the Amarr retook the system.

Do not credit me. It was mainly Nephilim Xeno, Flyinghotpocket and others who kept pressure in Huola. I plexed a lot in Dal to keep Sasawong and other war targets busy (who always delivered the mighty blob) so others could work elsewhere with better odds.
Eventually we had big fleet up in Dal and minmatar didnt fight anymore. So in the fleet we came up with idea of "lets retake Huola" (since it was already heavily contested) and First General took fleet to Huola while I stayed in Dal and plexed there (and 10+ war targets were forced to keep an eye on me).
Camps were set on all gates, people designated to run plexes and things went smoothly. Matar formed a counter fleet, Wolfsbrigade killed it (I was supposed to be there but was fighting over minor plex in Dal) and eventually system turned vulnerable.
Bunker was buster (Matar could not secure medium plex in Huola to halt the bust). After this fleet went to chase matars from major plex in Dal and eventually managed to surprise them in Siseide and kill them in quite one-sided match.
So all in all, it was excellent team effort and cooperation from whole Amarr militia. Yes, lots of waiting around happened but some pretty good fights were had, especially the slugfest over a medium plex in Dal. My personal score for the day was being in 26 killmails and losing 5 shps (1 navy caracal for being too cocky and one hookbill to well executed ambush, others were in proper stand-up fights)
We'll see how things go next weekend (I can already reveal I will be somewhat busy monday-friday so dont expect me to go plexing that much).

This change, and the news that FW has more activity because of it, makes me very interested in re-joining the effort (for the Amarr, because the Minmatar are smelly slaves and Amarr have those awesome supr srs bsns robes).
My question: Is FW still full of lame alt-spying and super paranoid fleets as a result? It's not you guys who need to repair what has been broken, it's us. CCP Wrangler |

I wonder what the stats are with kills in and around plexes since Crucible? I know that the last 4-5 days I've been on, there's been enemy ships in/around systems I'm plexing in and I have gotten more small fights than the whole time plexing before crucible.
Congrats on ya'lls conquests. It makes FW more exciting to have progress made. Even if it's the enemy doing it. |

I don't think the intent was ever to hang on to Huola. Just to prove we could do it.
Also, Huola was taken by essentially 4 or 5 people (Silence and Anya Sulli mostly) while it took the entire might of the Amarr Militia to recapture it. So, yeah. vOv
Also, you should drop Revelations out of range of our lone Triage more often, but don't self-destruct them in shame next time. Kthxbai. |

You fail to take into account the fact people will be pissed off when it is pointed to them that they quite often lose ships to a person who, according to multiple eyewitness accounts from frog militia, flies t1 frigates which are always equipped with warp core stabs and cloaking devices

Tldr: Weirdo.
I think (Im hoping its a conscious decision) he is trying to 'make a name' for himself as resident provincial a55hat (Op success). A bit like Miila from Rens. Uncanny narcissim parallels, maybe they are RL related? Who knows? Who cares? All i know is I wouldnt leave kids with either of them.
Should also say that hes great for laughing at, and also that hes quite a good solo kiter. Capable.

QFT.
Plexing may still be totally worthless, except for maybe a few tags, but it does seem to have stirred things up some.

I think the plexing change was so big surprise that gallente and minmatar got few systems just by being more active.
Gallete had plexing op going on caldari systems before expansion ( maybe they hoped couple extra server reboots happen after patch) so change just made it easy to get those systems fast. Then gallente got exited how easy it was and keep it going.
As you see it was never about npc balance or that it has no meaning or no rewards.
Before it was just about tactics to keep systems without plexes to take, now that tactic is gone and only most active can win.

LOL - yep - we hax teh servers again to get extra DT's....
Actually, NPC jamming was tweaked in a previous patch....so yes, NPC balance was an issue. I've noticed it - a LOT. While jamming still happens often...it's not the instant, perma "WTF why should I even bother" jam that it was before...
That combined with the removal of any DT advantage meant we didn't need whole fleets to PLEX - we could actually tackle squid plexes with just one or two as you guys have been able to do for years AND still defend ourselves if the need/desire arose from counter plexers.
While I think the changes are a bit drastic, it is still for the better as it should go to those who are more active throughout the day, and not just a select few who happen to be in the ideal TZ... |
