Othnark	Posted - 2003.11.30 16:51:00 - [1] So a few nights ago I set out to search out PAK and join them for some pirating. Last night I found them, and boy do I have a tale to tell. At about 20:00 GMT I logged in Kamih where PAK has an office and met Torvus Jay. We immediately set up a couple of Blackbirds and go out looking for victims. I gotta mention there have been like 5 wars declared on PAK... pretty damn crazy to still be in a region with all those hostiles around. The best part of the evening came when we warped in on a maller and an indy mining. I instantly locked up the maller, and launched missiles at the indy. Stupid bugged missiles just orbited the indy... he ended up getting away. I was sporting multiple scramblers and webbers so this guy was not going anywhere fast. We negotiated a 2M ransom, and he agreed to pay but didnt have all the money. So we held him in place and took a 400k down payment. He called his CEO on the phone who was supposedly driving home in order to log in and transfer us the cash. The maller was complying fully stopped his ship and sat still. I disabled the webbers to charge up cap. This went on for 20 minutes all the while im **ed saying lets just wack him out already. Finally the locals in hte system figure out we are pirates and where we are performing a hold up. They get brave and start deciding to help the poor guy. First thing that happens is Admiral Leyton in a Scorp and a Gats in a Thorax show up demanding that we leave immediately. Im not sure which but i think GATS deploys 8 berserkers, Torvus dampens the scorp, and launches a torp at the berserkers who are 30km away. Real smart deploying drones beyond effecive range.... BAMMO 7 are dead and Gats warps away at this point, closely followed by the Admiral. After a while, Gats returns this time and gets close to us. All the while we suckered him in and didnt lock him. Once he was close enough <10k i locked, scrambled with 1 of my scramblers and webbbed him and told my partner "ITS ON, he is scrambled blow the out of him" a few cruises and torps later BAMMO... Then i quickly click my sensor ooster and lock and scramble his pod. I think for a second lets ransom him, but then decide nah he attacked me he deserves no mercy. 1 click later a devastator is on the way.... KER-SQUISH. The Admiral returns, gets dampened and warps away AGAIN! Meanwhile im still **ed this original guy hasnt paid. I want to kill him, but he did give us a 400K down payment and is complying. Still no payment from this first dude, and I am really starting to freak out. Finally The Admiral shows back up sporting enough sensor boosters, defeats the dampeners, and is only 10k away from me. I get a message in gang chat "go hide!"... I flip my ship around hit the MWD and start taking hits.... I get out of scrable range at 30% armor and manage to warp to a moon adn then a safe spot and met Torvus there. Now the smack talk begins. "Come back and fight you wusses", "Pirates are losers", "You got no skill" etc etc.... Words dont blow up ships though! We managed to flee the system and get back to dock. I havent had that much fun for a while. I hope all parties involved did as well.... especially Gats. -Othnark

Torvus Jay	Posted - 2003.11.30 22:16:00 - [7] Thank You J0sephine Zell we were our matched and out numbered it took them more than 15 minutes to make us retreat, we fought them WHILE continuing to hold our hostage and caused the destruction of a ship and pod. They had every advantage including warping in and out making bookmarks off the rat cans that were near us. And still we came out 400k richer. These interlopers came out down one thorax, a bunch of drones and a corpse:) Our retreat was completely legitamate under the circumstances. All you guys ever do is talk smack and beg lone bbs to come and get ganked by 15 bships. With the dozens of people hunting us in aridia how come i am able to still ransom ships and conduct my buccaneering business. Let me tell you it has nothing to do with hiding all day. I run your station and gate camps, i run if im ambushed by forces with power 10- 20 times my own. And who wouldnt? If u want to kill us u have to catch us so stop asking me to come out and get ganked. You know sometimes i load up EVE and go to work knowing that some of you guys will camp a station for hours waiting for me. That being said i will 1v1 any of u in cruisers(as i do not own a bship and when/if i decide to buy one i will gladly extend this invitation to include them) any modules you would like any rules u would like except 1 If you are hulled u stand and be podded as i will do the same. I think C0W do this as well, at least they attempted to on me the other day, was really cool. Glad you got a fight and some cash, and some decent RP (even if the 'tard did get abusive at the end). And kudos to those who came after you (even if you did get the better on this occasion) bet hunting you guys and helping out some miners was a bit of a buzz as well. Even if they did lose a ship and get podded. "I havn't had that much fun in a while" ...is the most important statement here, hope you keep it up, pretty inspiring, hopefully a few more will follow your example. (and no I'm not a pirate, and no, I don't intend to be one either, and neither is my corp...just think this sort of thing makes the game a lot more fun for everyone.) I'm actually looking forward to the day I get caught and have to negotiate some ransom money to let me go. Doubt my CEO will be happy, but ah well, can't win them all eh? Being ransomed and not being killed after paying sure beats the hell out of the dieing before you spawn in at a JIP. Kudos to PAK the maller and the ones tring to rescue him!
