I was visiting my friend this weekend and we sometime get very philosophical. We usually donŠt make any sense and usually make more fun than philosophical observations.
I started telling him that some players in EVE who have "won" the game sometimes go bad. And by winning I mean got endless amount of money, battleships and what not. And he pointed out that maybe that said something about us as person. When you have everything in the world do you go bad.
What do you think? __________ Capacitor research |

No. But when you have all the money in the world and nobody to smack you hard when you lose contact with earth you go bad.

we are all born with good and evil inside us. its the path you walk that makes you either one. for my self no i would not turn evil but would try my best to help others but thats just me.

On the subject of unlikely glimpses into the nature of humans, consider public restrooms. How many otherwise ordinary people, when faced with the anonymity of a public bathroom, are suddenly unable to resist the temptation of writing or scratching naughty words on the wall. "Ohhhh, I said the f-word!"
People are very different animals in the absence of accountability and consequences. At least some of them.

Edited by: Wolfshelm on 30/11/2003 20:45:51 Its just boredom you get to a certain point after getting battleships money etc and some people ask the question " what do i do next ?" and it ususaly means being "bad" Also contrary to popular belief this is a game just because you might be " evil " in eve dosent automaticaly make you evil in RL

"Power corrupts..."
...only those who are weak or simple minded.
Those with a strong will, and who set out in this game with good intentions, will remain that way throughout, even with 100 billion isk.
It's all in the brain, some have have good ones, others don't. It's genetics...

The most evil acts are done for good reasons by people that believe they are doing good.
Twin Towers anyone?
The crusades?
The Inqusition?
National Socialist's purifing europe (8 million Jews, Gypsies, and anyone else considered undesirable)?
Anyone think that the people involved with all of these did not think they were doing good? They believed that they were.
How about the forced conversion of (pick your religion here) by (pick another religion here)?
Evil always exists, but then so does good.
