i play eve since 3 years and with each new pc i get it runs more poor then bevore i use now a athlon 4800 dual core 64bit with 4gb ram and 2x 8800 slide including a 120gb raptor so far a damned good maschine i get 7900 3d marks in 06 version.all games run like hell and what does eve? gives me freaking 20 fps in combat and when i recall my dronez to bay i get a short freeze and it lags like hell.. eve really gets unplayable if you contact suport they tell ya what to uninstall and turn off sound and all this bla bla but nothing works if i turn sound off i didint get even a half fps more turning off effects the same it has no impact its like the settings are frozen to 20 fps in combat... i hope next bigger patch fixes it otherwhise i cancel i wait since over a year that it gets better but nothing hapens.

more enters plz :-P
your problem might be the dualcore. Did you install the Dual-Core-Patch from AMD ? Did you install the latest VIA-Drivers (Hyperion) ? Did you install the optional Eve-Patch ?
Did you clean your cache?

No 8800 drivers are out yet.
There are drivers to allow you to use it, but none to enable the feature sets on them. EVE makes no use of SLI, and you probably haven't set up the processor properly in the bios to allow to run at full speed. ---

You'll find that's just a specific .inf file that has all the resolution settings and such in it along with the usual forceware control panel. There is no 8800 driver as of yet that enables all the feature sets, and there won't be until early Feburary (straight from NVidia's mouth). AFAIK, they're doing this to reflect the release of DX10 and Vista.
Having said all this, EVE makes hardly any use of a high-end graphics card, so I'm with Baleorg on the fact that it's probably an issue with the way you've setup your system (even though other games run fine).
It might be worth mentioning that some early models of ATI cards, and a few of the new Nvidia cards have a problem when drawing windows ontop of EVE, or drawing EVE off the screen, as well as shadows. So make sure you have any custom XP interface disabled, and that shadows are disabled (Control Panel > Systems > Advanced > Performance settings). To see if it is this, just click "Adjusted for best performance". This will disable a lot of eye-candy. If you notice a boost in EVE framerate and responce, just tick them one by one, and see which one(s) are/is the causing problem(s). ---
