Ok, now the title may be a little cryptic but meh, you'll understand what I mean as I go, Everyone loves Ghost in the shell right? yeah, I know you do, Robots, funky stuff, it's all good.
I like the crappy robots though, not the really awesome ones that are overpowered, I don't want to be some super soldier, I want to be in a jameson body.
This brings me to my main point, Heat Guy J, Ripoff you say? Robotic policeman kicks ass and saves day? yeah, it's sort of a ripoff I guess but THIS robotic policeman is pretty much steam powered, which makes it the coolest thing in the actual universe.
Going to punch someone? Whoo, steam powered doom fist! (note, he does not say that)
Anyway, i'm just saying, I prefer Heat Guy J to GITS.

Manga, it's a cartoon about a Cop and his Robotic buddy who kick ass.
It's pretty cool.
I'm just saying, things where the robots are all sleek/sexy/super powerful aren't so cool, It's boring watching that woman win every fight, kick every ass easily.

OK, I gotta see this. I don't find manga appealing, but I heard a lot about Ghost in the machine and I want to see it all.
So what is it? A movie? Several episodes? How do I get this the easiest way - and I don't want to download god knows how many GB of data from some crappy program I'd rather not install on my fresh copy of Windows.
But if I have to resort to that option, please tell me what I am looking for?

It's episodes, i'm afraid I can't really say where to get it, I didn't get it online, I went to a shop and bought the series 1 box set.
eBay may have some though.
If you can, try to download some trailers, I believe they can be got from Here. It's always best to see if you like it for free before spending cash.

Meh. Ghost in the Shell is a classic. Pretty much a staple of the genre, along with Akira, Record of the Lodoss War and Bubblegum Crisis. Haven't seen Heat Guy J yet, but I just can't knock the classics.

Indeed, GITS is fantastic. Just about everything in the series is well done, particularly the soundtracks. But I haven't seen this HGJ show, it looks interesting. Or at least the animation does, Escaflowne was neat, and everybody loves robots.

The Major doesnt win every battle and they do a wonderful job of depicting when she gets pwnd. I own the full seasons of both SAC and SAC2 and both movies. Love the series. They do a fairly decent job of depicting events realisticly and have a wonderful plot that keeps you on edge.
I hope they continue on with the story, the next phase could be particuarly good.

Heat Guy J does look pretty cool. I didn't really ike the GITS movie. Thought it was a bit boring. But I hear the series is better and I would like to ee the 2nd film.
Also have you tried YouTube. There are loads of anime series on there. My gf and housemate keeps watching Naruto, and a few others, on there.
