I was wondering if anyone knew for certain if the advanced mining drones (anything above "basic") were out yet and if so where to get them????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....ty

No they are uber-rare, u wont find many around now. They used to drop in one's or two's early on but they seemed to totally disappear after awhile.

Well, there sure are drones that are better then basic mining drones. You have normal mining drones, elite mining drones and harvester mining drones. I believe Harvester mining drones are the best you can get at the moment. I use 10 Harvester drones when mining and they pull me 2500 scordite each time they come to unload, which is 250 scordite / drone so they eat away pretty fast. |

They were gone early in the game, replaced by Harvester drone drops. Ironically they are still listed in the market though: Mining Drone Standard; Mining Drone Improved; Mining Drone Advanced.
There is also a Mining Drone Elite (same output as Harvesters but uses half the space). I remember seeing them early in the game, but that was a long long time ago. I still have my Mining Drone Improved, 3 of them gathering dust in my hanger. They helped me make money during my frigate days.

I have 5 improved mining drone too, hidden somewhere in the drone bay of a ship i don't use anymore :)
Maybe i should take a look to find them and put them on the market, they should worth a lot now that they are almost a piece of collection

Dear god, you use ten harvesters to mine SCORDITE?!? WTF is wrong with people like this?

Zero risk mining. Scord refines to trit and pyerite, which is a reliable NPC seller. It is also valuable for battleship production (almost as much as mega - how often do you see massive amounts of trit or pye on the market for reasonable amounts?).

Well, when I mine I tend to use ALL my stuff to gather the wanted ore as quickly as possible. I'm not saying I mine Scordite all the time. I don't buy any minerals except for Zydrine and Megacyte so then mining is the only option. If you would produce 10+ cruisers and 3 battleships a week you would understand yourself that it takes quite a lot of time. Now, WTF makes your JIP-camping better then my mining with 10 drones? |

From what i've read i guess they just don't exist except as collector pieces.....anyone know if they're gonna be released then????
I'd be willing to pay a lot for a drone that took up half the space of a harvester for the same mining yield....a definite plus when i'm mining in a moa for now
