Edited by: Ghana Straa on 06/01/2007 18:14:33 A fellow corp mate is facing a problematic overview . . . the drone overview is overlapping the top overview . . . and when he gangs up it gets even worse . . . is there a way to "reset" the overview so the gang and drone panels fall back below ? . . . perhaps an .ini setting or something ? Thanx

You may have tried this already, but when I have trouble with the overview, generally minimizing it then restoring it will get it back the way it should be. The new buttons for the gang functions sometimes go vertical on me, generally after undocking or jumping, and minimizing/restoring fixes that. ---------- The right to do something doesn't make doing it right. |

Huh, actually happened to me once. Deleting (or renaming) just the cache (machonet folder) unfortunately didn't fix it for me.
I had to nuke my settings (settings folder). The overview was fixed after that, but be aware this will erase all overview settings, all key bindings, all bookmark and buddy folders, and put you back into the tutorial (which you can skip fortunately).
It's a last measure thing. --

Keep backing up your cache folder regularly.

Edited by: Samson Simpson on 25/06/2007 20:16:42 I was able to fix this problem.
- You must have "show hidden files and folders" set in Windows Explorer Tools->Folder settings to view the new location for the settings and cache folders.
- Open up the settings folder - C:\Documents And Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\Settings\
- RENAME the user_ files (~user_ or something like that)
- Start Eve Online.
- You can delete the renamed user files once you made sure everything is working.
If you have more than one character you can change the user_<number> files back to their original names for the ones that did not get recreated. (Only change what you need to )
The overview and graphics settings will reset and you will NOT lose your bookmarks or other stuff like that.
Good luck.

I have done the renaming of the char_ file, it just like reinstalling the game (you loose all overview settings, color/graphic settings, ect)
It worked for two days, then it happened again. The drone (0 of 5 max in space) is transparent when my overview is not. If i join a gang or fleet it and expand that tucks up behind the overview. It's a totally annoying mess.
My petition told me they couldn't help, my friends told me their response to it from petition was a Windows Vista issue (I use XP) Anyone know what sparks this issue? RevII is a coding disaster.

Wow this game is a mess since Rev II. 60 on 30 man battle full 3 minute dsync, overview never loaded, had to log just to find myself in station. Bran new ship never fired a shot.
I've completely wiped my registry and computer of CCP. Withing an hr of playing, once my gang was converted to fleet, my drone went bugged again and I could not control assigned fighters. Same stupid double stacking mess. I now owe a carrier pilot 100mill for fighter because i could not order them back to orbit vs chasing to hostile pos.

Shame on you CCP for not addressing this! True I worked my ass off at my RL job and couldnt play for the last 2 days but not even an acknowlegement that there was a problem? Shame shame on CCP.

Bump.
I have a similar problem, in gangs, the broadcast window in expanded mode shows only 1 line, and I can't drag it further down. ______________________________________ Goberth Ludwig: Joshua has a pillow with molle printed on it.

OK this worked for me. It was a little scarey since I don't think I have any real computer skills, In simpler terms:
I followed the path until I got to the settings folders. I found three files named "user_ ...." something or other. I changed the name of all three files which forced eve to recreate the three user_ files when I restarted. My overview was fixed, BUT all my overview settings were lost. My all my other settings seem to have remained intact. I then deleted the three "user_" files I had renamed and the game seems fine. Hope this helps those less technical around computers like myself. thanks samson for the tip.

CCP, This issue is still persistent and annoying. I've concluded it has someone to do with fleet and having your overview going all the way to the bottom of the screen. I went to open my broadcast to get armor and it shoved fleet up behind my 'items in space' overview. The above mentioned transparent drone control box was present until clearing my settings.
