Overall they're about equal really. If you want to strike fear into someone when PVPing, then a rattlesnake will do that - I'd run if I was in a CNR and someone came in with a rattlesnake - it means they have the isk to lose upto 3 billion isk of stuff (or more), and they dont mind taking it into pvp. They're either very very good, or very very stupid, and really, with that firepower available, either is very dangerous to it's target -- Yeah, so Caldari suck at close range. Wildwa Shadow Command	Posted - 2007.01.07 07:08:00 - [8] I've used both. I run a lot of level 4 missions, the extra low slot on the Rattlesnake is nice, but to be honest the dps on the CNR is better. I'm currently using a Rattlesnake, but as soon as i get my next CNR offer i will be back to using that.

In short, CNR for pve, rattlesnake for pvp. CNR has better dps but less hitpoints and less tank. Rattlesnake has more hitpoints, lower DPS but much better tank. Plus its sexy (see sig). For solo pvp both suck though - in case of the rattlesnake you want a gist-tank (b-type is cheap and still decent) so that's a large booster, boost amp, EM, THE, KIN hardeners and invu field-II - which means you cant tackle yourself. Deathbarrage	Posted - 2007.01.07 19:28:00 - [19] i think it was somehow calculated that because of better pg/cpu or slots whatever on the RS if you have an infinite amount of best items at your disposal the rattlesnake could get better dps then the CNR because it can fit torp launchers with more estamel's BCU's or something, don't ask me how it works exactly i saw it calculated somewhere =P

The rattlesnake can fit full officer setup with estemel siege doing far more dps. The CNR cannot. However Estemel Siege Rattlesnakes for pvp are somewhat a rarerity. The CNR is superior for pvp, a deadspace fitted CNR will do more DPS tank just as hard but lacks some HP compared to the Rattler. The Rattlesnake USED to be the best PVE ship as with no need for an injector it could then mount a superior tank however the maelstrom with good slots and a built in shield booster bonus IMHO surpases it if all your looking for is a NPC tanker.

Woo 4 damage mods. Go go gadget stacking penalty. 3 estamel bcu and 7 launchers is better for dps. Only reason a rattlesnake is so popular is cuz the blinking lights change colors. It was never worth 2b isk in my opinion.
