So much for better hardware. Well as it seems it doesn't help at all. Lets remove bookmarks to reduce lag - well haven't helped either.
Today there were to be a big fight in 0.0 - but when ppl can't logon due to system is overloaded and others that warp to the jump in gate don't see anything on there screen for 6-10 mins then it is hard to make combat.
All i want to state here is that i really really think that CCP - who for most of the time have made a wonderful game - should start to think of options for optimizing their game system when it comes to big fights.
I am not some noob that just arrived into the game. I have been in the community for like 2 years now. And from day one I have heard complaints etc about the lag when it comes to fleet wars. So it shouldn't be something new for CCP to hear this - the game community would just like to see some real action on this particular problem since loads of players are involved in these "big fights"!!
Hope to get some constructive critiscm on this post and not the usual flaming/whinning because that is not what the intention is with this post.

ok, didnt had huge fleet battles yet. :-P but my fps goes down a bit,might start to overclock my pc *sigh*

Be happy if you're only having it with fleet battles atm... I'm alone in a system in Geminate and everything takes 30 seconds to respond.

The lagg in I-N is unbearable it took me 20mins just to jump in to the system. 30 mins to warp to the POS and another 30 mins to warp to an other POS. After that i was so frustated that i logged out

Hardware isn't a problem, Software IS. This game should be totally rewrite from begining, and for now, back to pre revelations (red moon rising). Revelations is bugged: higher lags, lower frame rate. Many new things like contacts, new map etc are a total crap.
Half year working ccp programers for nothing.

Edited by: Emma Royd on 10/01/2007 19:07:23 I tend to agree with the last post, CCP have been all out for Revelations, but imo it more unplayable than before. There is nearly 30k users on each night, and I logged in over the weekend and there was nearly 33k.
While I'm no expert, it seems like other mmorpg's don't suffer as much as we do with lag.
The conspiracist in me says it's CCP's way of keeping an even userbase, new members join and old leave as they're fed up with all the changes but no real fixes. We've had excuse after excuse, new hardware, new network, new software, more of the previous but still it's bugged, and still it's laggy, waiting for modules to come on line when in missions.
It simply isn't good enough, and CCP don't seem able to fix the real problems. I can cope with the Eve-Mail fiasco, the corp standings that don't work, but the lag makes it unplayable. I've lost count of the number of times I've docked and quit.
