This is driving me MAD.... just because its peak hours in EVE I cant even log in!! GRRRRRRRRRR
and yes im located in JITA system..... and yes.... it should be possible to login in in highly populated areas at ALL time :(

the queues for the busy hub systems like jita are there for a reason. If everybody were to login to jita it would proberbly cause massive lag. If it bothers you then log off at another system neaby thats not as busy

Jita is the one system in eve you do not log out in, period.
Yes it should be possible to log in any system in eve at all times successfully....
But it isn’t, Jita runs at maximum capacity at peak times, the lag is horrible, ccp does everything they can to prop it up but the truth of the matter the physical hardware can not support 800+ people plus the extra load of people logging on there.... so just don’t.
All games require the player to deal with things that are not design features, Jita is one of them.

It is possible to login to all systems in EVE save for possibly a system with a fleet battle occuring in it, or Jita. I have a rule, never logoff in Jita or even enter it if I can avoid it.
(Support Oursulaert as a second trading hub!!!)

More likely it would crash instead of lag. But no doubt there are people who prefer noone being able to play over having to wait.

It would help a lot if people didn't stubbornly linger in Jita but went back to their missioning /mining area as soon as their business was concluded. I know no one in their right mind would do either in Jita itself because to hang around with a cumbersome miner in a super crowded system(with probably only a few lumps of Veldspar left anyway) is just as foolish as missioning in a system where there is likely at least one person probing for other people's mission areas. missioning in a less crowded hub or a neighbouring system is much smarter then.

Total new here - first post. My question is why is Jita so crowded? I've seen many posts and comments saying to stay away because of this, if its so bad what is the draw that is keeping people in that system?

Jita is a tradehub which means people are flying there to sell their products/items and that there are lots of agents in Jita system.

8 stargates, 8 belts, good proximity to 'starter' systems - I guess it's like a snowball effect, or a runaway train : ), Jita's got the momentum to just keep growing and growing.

In addition to all that Jita has a bazillion stations, and a bunch of agents. This started attracting merchant types, so now jita is THE place to sell goods in The Forge, which ends up attracting even more people, which boosts the trade volume, which allows more traders to sell more volume, which attracts more people etc etc etc.
Jita sucks, I would rather pay more for something and go 15 jumps out of my way to get it than to go to jita and deal with the lag and the local 'chat'.
