For real ccp, for 13 years i have tolerated the lacknes of ability to fight or do something in your game if there are more than 200 ppl fighting in a region, cause of node closed, lag and now no way to log in, 13 YEARS, when is it time to get a real server and stop waisting your money into some dream objects like walk in station, dust and some darkness games ?
Atm there is not even chance to start launcher, and plz do not tell me its my isp or system, cause world of warships and war thunder load up just perfect with no lag.
With best regards from a person that still hopes that one day we can have ok fights, but i am starting to be afraid that it will not happen in my lifetime.

It's a sandbox MMO. If there are 200 people preventing you from playing "your way", switch tactics and do something else. |

You haven't figured out EVE's programming is the wrong bulb to fit into the light socket of today's tech? This game will NEVER manage the amount of ships it's able to lure into a system. TIDI was an admission it's impossible. That in mind, what exactly were you hoping for...really?

You do understand how eve works right? I would highly suspect it is something on your end given that most of handle our day to day stuff fine, have you tried reinstalling it? You also have to understand games like world of warships use small local servers, where are tranquilty is one big server for the whole world. And actually tranquilty is one of the largest supercomouters in the gaming industry http://www.pcgamer.com/eve-online-1/

+1 LIKE to the OP for pointing out the fact that LAG has been a major issue in this game since day 1.
Despite what the rest of you say, LAG is definitely something that should have been eliminated within the first year.

Have you ever seen a lag free server with 200 people in it? In any game out there? There are games that have not a lag free server when 10 people are playing...... Let alone 200 people. Stop talking nonsense people its not funny or true.

I only upgraded it the other year. Virgin Media who took over NTL actually phoned me up, & asked if i wanted to upgrade to "Super Hub2" ...well it went into more detail about my contract. "Hugs" my wireless modem

You do realize that the servers for thouse games are not in the same location as the server for TQ right? You do know that just because you have no traffic on the free way to get to work doesn;t meean other people don;t as well. Essentually what you are saying is "why is there traffic on your road to your office ccp? i was able to get to my doctors with no problem"

Don't worry, he needs something to do in between bigging himself up on his EVElopedia entry (and arguing with the ISDs, for that matter) and speaking down to everyone else.
OT: The internet is a dynamic and fluid transit environment (as you must know), and - despite what CCP says and however much money they throw on new servers and whatnot - the quality of the connection can't necessarily be guaranteed. Couple that with the fact that EVE seems particularly sensitive to dropped packets that you get more connection issues with this game than the others you mentioned, OP.
In other words - it's business as usual.

I used to get socket close errors. I then did all the stuff CCP said to fix the problem... None of that worked. Turns out I just had to plug my computer in and get off Wifi |

I had the socket closed errors something awful recently, and then I tried connecting via the VPN I use for work and that fixed it. I tried going back to my regular connection and all was dandy again - obviously something was upsetting the applecart somewhere along the line.
