I almost lost the Moa in Massive Attack (or some other stupid level 3 mission) and I decided to go back to the pirates there. Big mistake. Well, partially big.
I spotted a Rifter called "New Toy" in a belt, and I decided to try to break it. On my way to his belt, I also scanned a Taranis and that I didn't quite like, but what the hell. Too late to stop now!
We ran around a few times, trying to catch ourselves by the tail, but in the end the Taranis dropped in my lap, literally.
I have t2 lightdrones.
He was really ashamed of what followed, he told me so later. A Moa killed a Taranis. *shakes head in disbelief*
The Rifter took off with a MWD between the legs as soon as he saw my drones targeting him, but menaced me he'll come back in a Caracal to fight me. I waited and waited and waited and nothing happened, so I decided to pursue my course towards a system with a level 3 agent I meant to use, but on my way there I found the Taranis pilot, and the Rifter/Caracal pilot and the guys I wrote about in the previous encounter all huddled up in the system doing *** things.
I asked the Caracal to fight me and he was coming towards us, but some freakin' Hurricane dropped out of warp at the same time with him; obviously he freaked out and I never saw his tail again for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, the other corporation's thinking I'm really dumb: "I'll fight you in my Thorax, at a safespot.... Not at a gate, 'cause there you can shoot and just get away!" Myeah. Playing EVE much?
They send a Claw to bump me even further off the gate, even though I'm some 40 km by now. Then the same Claw comes back in a Myrmidon, and targets me and MWDs really close to me! And he's looking at me something fierce, but no, he does not attack me. His whole corp AND the other corp (Taranis and Rifter/Caracal) tries to convince me to go to a safespot, like I have "1 day old in State War Academy" written on my forehead. In the end, Caracal comes close and I get a chance to do stuff to him, but in a stupid attempt to be nice, I enabled the guns first, and not the scrambler. He warped out, scared ****less, and finally came back to fight me "for real now": Scorpion with heavy NOS.
I laughed at its puny damage for about 15-20 seconds, until the Taranis pilot showed up as well: Hyperion.
Obviously, I got out of the system very deceived and with half of the dimwits on my block list (one of them even thought it would be very cool to comment on my spelling! I never felt so ashamed in my life).
Tomorrow's another day, but if you meet the people from Roadkill, or Beets and Gravy Syndicate, don't bother. They'll just try to gank you AND fail.

We can all put 3 purge rigs on a moa with 4 SPR II's and an extender, ruptor, and web. if we all wanted.....

Three things.
One, there was a nighthawk in system that was near the gate. You weren't as important. We eventually got the nighthawk :).
Two, you refuse to fight without being near a gate. And using a passive tank moa. C'mon now.
Three, you are perhaps the most annoying person I've ever met. After concluding no one was paying her any attention, she started to spam local.

Well, I'm sorry I overestimated my importance, but when there's at least three of you going "Oh, yeah, I'll fight you 1 vs 1 in my <insert ship here>" and then you bail out, even after having caught the Nighthawk, that excuse just sounds lame, Gix.
Murtific, I came up with my Moa's setup in an effort to have the cheapest PVP ship that could take out all other cruisers and frigates and assault frigates. The total setup costs 10 millions, as I mentioned throughout the thread, but I suppose you just came here to bash me, not read the stories :) So your suggestion that I put rigs on a freakin' t1 Moa is laughable at best.
I refused to fight somewhere other than near a gate and also explained why: if your mates are feeling brave and want to gank me while your 1 vs 1 is not finished, just like they did to me earlier (read my last 3 posts), I want them to think about it twice because of the sentries. As for your knowledge of the game: you cannot warp away if you're scrambled and you can definitely not dock/jump for about 60 seconds after you have aggressed someone, so no, I cannot escape through the gate. You can still gank me, like the Roadkill guys did in the end, with two battleships to take out a Moa, but that just proves how confident you are on your flying skills, after all that bragging that "the Moa is a crappy ship".

Well when us say I'll fight you one on one at a gate within jump range. I say screw it. I'll warp in and shoot you and force you to jump so I dont have to look at local chat anymore. I'd bring a 100 man fleet in. Could care less. You would die just the same, in one big explosion. =]
Oh by the way, nice job on losing 2 moas to lucifer. quite astounding and it envigours me to see you come back to certain death. Plz keep our killboards fat. Thx. Bye.

Yeah, about those two loses, I'm sorry... Myrmidon full of NOSes will do that to people, on occasion. However, you "New Toy" Rifter was broken, in big part because of me, so for me, it was worth it. I saw you lost quite a bit more in money than I did, after all, and if all you can do is measure your ...PVP knowledge in how many kills you got...
Anyway, enough *****ing in this thread, you're just jealous of my awesomeness. After all, I got an Arbitrator, Brutix, Taranis and 2 Rifters from you guys. You got three of my Moas. Count the total losses.

:) Please kick Murtific then, he broke our 1 vs 1 by coming back in a Scorpion and his friend Muriel something in a Hyperion (Muriel wasn't invited, Murtific agreed to the 1 vs 1).

If that's true, get in contact with the CEO and provide evidence of the situation.
Now otherwise, there's no need to get smacky here, we're all here to kill people :), your tank lasted much longer than I expected, it was quite good, but your offensive capability was a bit low, and using rails with no way to dictate range isn't such a good idea. But it's great to see somebody using a ship not often used for piracy, and I admire you for trying, although the setup could use some work.

I said 1 on 1. Yep, but not with you hugging the gate. Saw that the first time I warped in and took sentry fire in a caracal. I lawled and decided to dock and wait out the timer. Friend says in gang that he warped to a nighthawk at 0m at a planet in a myrm. So I grab my scorp and proceede to join him =] Me being the pirate that I am, Yarr time began. You still hugging the gate was an oportunity to shut you up in local cuz all you were doing was smacking. Mirel asked if he could come and I said sure =/.... Bye bye when u and out of local not to come back yet. Since I've been online anyway.. Now plz shhhhh

well, in all honesty I couldnt be arsed to read half of this thread- waay too much text for my attention span. but i do know something about piracy in a moa, for the first year of my time in this game i only used a moa for solo pvp and it was the win. thing about the moa, is that most people that dont fly it would assume its crap, and in a way theyre right as its only rly good if you have decent skills. ive never lost a 1v1 against a cruise in a moa, ive occasionally lost 1v1's against battle cruisers, and ive even taken down one or two bs's in a moa (1v1), namely a scorp and a geddon. This was long before rigs or any of that jaz- just plain t2 setup with small guns and nos. highly underrated ship, but not for everyone. |

I took the time to read this thread, a pleasent read indeed
I'm a Moa fan i used one extensivily on pvp operations, a capable ship once setup correctly and one which can compete well with other T2 ships of similar size on damage output with good skills... Also makes a good sniper hitting just over 100km, personnal find it best to carry some extra types of ammo for different occassions.
A little used ship full of suprise's for those who under estimate the Moa of doom
