so why do I have to wait 24 hours because a dumb corp officer gave me roles I didnt know about? if i contact a gm can they do it for me? i think its dumb that I cant leave when I want to.
if I spam my corp chat and **** them all off and they kick me will that get me out instantly? im going to try this next if I have to. id rather leave on a good note but I hate my corp and do not want to play with them.

Edited by: Lysseth on 09/01/2007 08:18:43 You have to wait 24hours even when your going to be kicked.
Stay in NPC corp if you don't want roles.

It's not harassment to assign people roles, get a grip people and stop wasting petition time. Repeatedly re-assigning them is.

so its allowed to force a player to stay in your corp forever? maybe ill make a corp and just force anyone i can bait to join into staying forever with a 100% tax rate, this would be acceptable?

my ceo ignores me so this is what i will do. im going to start evemailing all of the ceos of every corporation person I find and smack talk them on behalf of my corporation. i will go to the main cities everywhere and smack talk the locals. i will also take everything in the corporation hangars and sell it and then smack talk about it in corp chat. i hope this will make them let me leave!

That will ôLEARNö you not to join a Corp.
Not that I myself am not guilty of this, as I have joined 2 corps. Neither of which worked out or was so lame I had to leave. Luckily I didnÆt get locked into them and it was months ago.
Personally, I am still waiting for a good corp. Hopefully with the people I have come to know in EVE, Eve-radio and most of the locals I talk to regularly.
Maybe its best to stand on your own two feet first in EVE before trying to Join a Corp. Least that way you donÆt feel your going to them ôHat in Handö and can be a little more choosy when picking your corp.

Ethereal Eclipse: If you have real problems with leaving, just petition it. It shouldn't take too much time, and that is the most civilized ways of leaving.

Have another look at what Wendat wrote. Forcing people to stay is harassment and can be petitioned. However, you can't really know if that is their intention unless they do it several times or tell you that it is indeed the case.

i totally agree! im standing on my own feet. i am a total godess. thats the problem! im so above my corp and they really depress me. maybe hate was a strong word but how dare they assign roles to me when I desire to leave for better things. i dont pass judgement but they are so sad people, just sooooo sad, you know? they are like a silent movie above rotting leaves sad. im totally with you about the locals. total coolness!

Get a grip Eclipse, you have to wait 24 hours even if they never assigned you a single role.
Roles are generally considered a priveledge. I am sure your corp thought they were assisting you. If they re-assign, however, thats another story.
I am quite certain at this point your corp does not want you either.
One more tidbit of advice for the goddess; carefully consider what and how your doing this. Reputations are everything in the universe of Eve, if you intend to ever have any sort of significant impact on anything.
cheers, x

And posting on the forums like this destroys reputation with every single person who reads these boards. Sure you may not care about your reputation with that corp, but I bet you care about your reputation with everyone else you might want to join. Posting like an idiot pretending to be better than everyone else significantly lowers that reputation.

The 24 hour time was introduced to prevent mid war corp hoping.
Back in ye olden days you could leave a corp immediatly regardless of roles. However it wasn't long before some people started abusing it (leaving the corp during a war to move goods to a station and then rejoin once you got there), docking mid fight, leaving corp and undocking (war enemies wouldn't have noticed 99% of the time since the overview wasn't nearly as advanced back then) and so on.
Eventually it got to the point CCP had to add the 24 hours to prevent abuse.
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it.

Staying on your own feet is all well and good, just don't do it in the rookie NPC corp. Personally I am very unlikely to recruit a 3 moth old character still in the starter corp. It screams "ALT!!!" ---

Whenever people join my corp I give them roles. I have a "New Initiate" rank where you get basic rights to certain things within the corp.
When you join a corp you should expect them to give you newbie roles within the corp.
All you do is remove your roles and wait the 24 hours and then you can leave.
*If they constantly give you new roles to prevent you from leaving, this is something you should petition.*
If you spam your corp chat and **** them off they will definitely keep giving you roles just to make you mad. Don't be a jerk and people won't be a jerk to you. ---
