I have been playing off and on since beta and this last break has been about a year and a half. I have done a poor job of keeping up with the expansions during this time.
I understand SOE has faction exploration ships now. What other major changes have taken place? I am mainly a missle player. Are HAM still superior to HM? Are lights still useless? Are rails still useless? Whats up with these tech 3 destroyers? Have they nerfed the T3 cruisers?
What is the current meta in the game? Any help would be appreciated... |

Current meta is speed and kiting.
Kiting is for risk adverse cowards |

And to the OP: The SOE exploration ships are really wonderful to fly and very versatile, Light Missiles are quite good especialy in the Rapid Light Missile launchers, the new T III destroyers are fun to fly and 'some' are rather OP, and no, the T II cruisers have not been nerfed although imho the should get a rebalance pass. For the rest, the Patch notes and Dev-blogs are your friend.

I'm not sure that is a change of the last year and a half 
that said brawling vs a blob is usually just a bad idea. alliances and coalitions are freaking massive these days. and many have the attitude of "if it was a fair fight someone screwed up" I cant blame some of the kiting enthusiasts.
and then there are those that kite, use links, and blob
