Atm im flying a vexor, im gonna use it till i get my skills up for a thorax.
But i dont know how to eq it in a good way, i have some ideas, tho i dont know if it will hold up..
High slots: 2 Med neutron blasters, and 2 ion blasters.
Med slots: Med shield booster, Mwd, and something else..
Low slots: Magnetometric back up aray. some power diag, and a damage mod....
Tho i still have 1 med and 1 high slot fre, dont know what to put there.....
Atm im doing missions for the moust part, tho i whant to be able to give a fair fight if i get caught of guard, or even better, if i find a pirate of guard

Well you are doing well putting on the Blasters, I would Suggest a Smart Bomb if you can in that last high slot, so you can defend yourself against a few missles. Other than that not quite sure what to suggest.

Blasters are worthless IMO, since they hardly scorch your opponents paint at anything beyond 10k or so. Try 250mm railguns with Plutonium ammo, and you'll do the same damage from 20 km :-).

AH, but the blasters are quite smart. They aren't meant to be used outside 5km range or so, which is, I believe, why he has fitted a MWD. Most ships fit long/medium range weaponry and would therefore have trouble hitting a vexor orbiting at 5km blowing the $h1t out of them with blasters.
For the free medium slot, I suggest a shield hardener if you have the skill for it. For the high slot... well, not sure. If the Vexor has any missile slots then a missile launcher with some heavies/cruise missiles/torps should be in order... If not then the phattest smartbomb you can stick on it.

thanx for the feedback =) tho i would like more!
The blasters are there cus i think they suite gallente. Get up close fast using mvd release a swarm of drones and blast away with short range HEAVY hitters=)
I also have an idea for the spare med slot, maby fit it with warp scrambler so the ones i intend to get on wont be able to run ?
smartbomb might be a good thing, or some kind of targetter for the high maby =)

You have a good strategy so far. Your set up isnt the best for farming but would be good for missions and avoiding PK'ers. Your MWD will pretty much save u no matter what if u want to run However, if you want to close in and blast you better have farking good shields to make it there. A med blaster and a thermal hardener would do it. Now how are you gonna keep your cap up (-25% with MWD)? you will need 3 or 4 power cap relays in low slots. Im in a BS with 6 cap relays. A low slot eccm on a vexor may not be sufficient. I have a strength of 16 so 4 multi's cant jam me (3 specific can). Yes a scrambler will prevent your opponent from fleeing. If only we had endless med slots.....

Well i wont stay and fight any battle ship not any one, cus i dont have a chanse u dont have a chanse vs a battle ship if you dont have one yourself (and that is whats killing the pvp atm). Tho i would try fight any other cruiser that came in my way, cus i basicly have a chanse to beat every one out there, with a little practise. And if i loose i belive i would have had alot more fun loosing to that cruiser then to a battle ship.
The mwd is there for a reason, its there to close the distance to the target rather fast! cus in a few sec im gona be close enough to loos my drones and my blasters. I dont intend it to have it runing non stop at all time...
Well thanx for the thought! keep them coming

MWD with blasters are a good combo if you are hunting in belts and you see isolated big rats, or if the big rats are in the same belt but some distance away from each other.
But you're asking to die very quickly if you think this combo will work against multiple rats in a single nest, as much as nine of them in one time.
If it's multiple 20K or 30K rats with lame short range weapons like Guristas, Serpentis or Angels maybe it does not matter that much. But if it's Bloods (using Augoror and Arbitrator ships supported by missile spamming Inquisitors), you're going to lose your shields pretty quick, as these use focused medium pulses with x-ray-M crystals and focused medium beams with radio-Ms. In any case, a thermal and an EM shield hardener is a must, but the real best tactic is to hit from a distance.
So yeah, against laser firing and missile spamming rats, it's better to keep your distance. My Vexor, made to fight these rats, got 2 250mm rails and 2 focused Medium Beams---the lasers go a long away if halving my ammo requirement and increasing ammo persistance, while helping to reduce target shields faster. I outfit with plenty of cap and recharge rate, with an EM shield hardener being a must.

Obvious, but worth saying: if you're going to fit a smart bomb, don't use it when your drones are out (and nearby).

Edited by: Dash Ripcock on 03/12/2003 12:27:25 Looking good so far. Try putting some cap relays into the low slots, and also think about getting a stasis web. The latter will help you keep your target within range of your Blasters, giving them a bigger headache in the morning.
But yeah, basically get in close and fast, pound them with your guns, and release your drones up close (otherwise they might take them out on the way in with some torps). It's pretty much the same tactics as a Thorax, just with one less gun and the possibility to use Smartbombs.
Oh yeah, I am talking PvP here. If you are hunting rats, go for a mixed set-up, or completely ranged. In my Thorax I use 2/3 250MM and 2/3 Blasters, allowing me to engage from afar and up close. Take along an assortment of ammunition for your Hybrids, as this will give you even more options.

Dash's recommendations are good in the mark.
Webs are also very handy when you are rat hunting, especially if the rats are small Serpentis. Most of the small Serpentis like those 8 to 10K ones in Tristans (Protectors and Soldiers) have an annoying way to get up close (1000m) and orbit around you quickly. Webs are very handy to keep them in place and increase blaster hit effectiveness (by making the target a sitting duck) by 200%.
The recommendation of shield hardeners will depend region to region, rat to rat.
Gurista --- Ballistic Deflection (Kinetic) and Heat Transfer (Thermal).
Serpentis --- Same as above.
Angels --- Explosive Dampeners (explosive)and Heat Transfer (Thermal)
Sansha --- Photon Scatterers (EM) and Heat Transfer.
Bloods --- Same as above.
Substitute with named brands if you have them (annointed EM ward for photon scatterer for example).
