So I have 3 accounts, 2 of them are combat based and 1 is industrial. I'm currently making most of my money by ratting in a Raven in Angel 0.0 space. Its probably a lot faster than anything in empire but it still feels really slow. My industrial alt has exhumers 5, and all the <ore> processing skills to 4 for the area I'm in. My question is, would ratting in 0.0 make more or less money than mining say bistot in a hulk or covetor (not sure I can get access to Mercoxit at this point). I don't have a hulk right now but do have a covetor, but if a Hulk will make significantly more money than either ratting or the covetor I would invest in one.
Just curious which would be the overall fastest money maker so I can fund more t2 ships and parts for pvp :D

Mining Bistot or Arkanor will make you tons of money... probably more than ratting, and more steady.
But of course its very boring.

True but I can always turn my chair around and play Super Smash Bros Melee or something while I'm letting my cargo hold fill up :D Guess I'll try it out in the covetor first and then move to a hulk if its profitable enough.

Ratting and mining are both good ways of making isk in this game, however they are far from the best ways.
I have no Idea of how much isk you are making per hour ratting angels but I do know of several very good isk makers that does not include NPC fighting or mining.

Why not mine in the Hulk on one account and rat in the same system on your ratting account? Why choose when you can have both? Sounds like bank to me.

Would be a great idea but unfortunately the system with bistot doesn't have good ratting and the system with good ratting doesn't have good asteroids (no bistot, crok, ark, etc at all)

If it's ships you want, might as well have your Hulk mining veldspar, especially if you are busy making money from rats at the same time.

Now why would I give myself competitors?
I will however give you one that anyone can get into providing you have the isk to invest.
Invention. It costs 2-6 bil to get into but once you are there and do it correctly you will be able to make alot of isk fast.

Do both of your characters have to be in the same system?

Edited by: Nox Solaria on 23/01/2007 13:29:21 Best way to make ISK...
... beg borrow steal a T2 ammo BPC. Do an examianation on originals/copies you might see on escrow and run a cost/unit check on building.
Of 4 ammo BPOs I have checked this against (I won't name them... their market value would skyrocket or crash) I've been amazed at the cost/profit margin. Discharge rate = the speed at which the ammo is expended, which relates to usage rate and thus sales.
Small ammo: 4 units/run - cost per unit 23k unresearched. Average current market price 100k. Manufacture time: 4 hours. Discharge rate: Very Low 5000 units/run - cost per unit 0.32 ISK inresearched. Average current market price 43 ISK. Manufacture time: 3.5 hours. Discharge rate: Very High
Medium Ammo: 5000 units/run - cost per unit 14.34 ISK unresearched. Average current market price 1000+ ISK! Manufacture time: 7.5 hours Discharge rate: Very High 5000 units/run - cost per unit 34 ISK unresearched. Average current market price 500. Manufacture time: 20 hours.
Large ammo: 5000 units/run - cost per unit 234 ISK unresearched. Average current market price 500. Manufacture time: 34 hours. Discharge rate: Low
Conversely, there are some simple T1 BPOs that can also turn a tidy profit pretty much anywhere.
Medium Ammo: 100 units/run - cost per unit 37 ISK unresearched. Average current market price 60. Manufacture time: 2 minutes Discharge rate: High
One caveat about the T1 ammo... The one above produces 100 units in 2 minutes, compared to the T2 listed above which produce in a matter of hours, or days, rather than minutes.
