I've decided, at last, to be uber reckless. I'm a new player and now is the time to test the waters, try things out and basically lose stuff. Because in the future losing stuff will probably make me literally cry.
I just took a trip into 0.0, just to see what it is actually like. It was really great fun. Of course I was podded a few systems in but I didn't really care  . I was caught in my first warp bubble, was shot at by players for the first time as well as podded for the first time.
At first I wanted to find the most effective way to make ISK, or the best way to rush through the agent missions. Now I just have a go at whatever I feel like and **** the consequences  . I'll learn a lot, I'll (hopefully) get a good idea of what I actually want to be and do. And I suspect in the long run it will serve me well. I hope to be a bit more focused soon, but until then....wa-hey.
N.B. None of the above requires a battleship or eidetic memory level 5. 
Having fun in EVE is about using what you have, not wishing you had more. |

Nicely done!
The trick is to learn every second you play, even more when things go wrong. The quicker you learn and adapt the more fun EVE becomes.

Also chat with the people who shoot you; sometimes they can be really funny and great to talk with when you're traveling
