What is better overall for level 4 missions with t2 fittings? I can fit a Nighthawk t2, and a Raven, except for t2 cruise/torp launchers.

nighthawk, better allaround tank that makes it easyer for geting through merc/angel/blood missions in it
raven is awsome for guristas/serpentis and other rats that do only two damage types and that contain large amounts of BS's though |

CanŠt fly a Nighthawk but can fly fully t2/faction fitted Cerberus and Raven (use a Navy one now). I would say missions with little BS Nighthawk would be better unless you use Raven with cruises and pack 2 painters. Easy and safe with rigs now available on easier missions. Missions with a relevant number of BS Raven all the way. For overall safety i would say Nighthawk will be better so maybe start with it while training cruise II and the relevant supporting skills. You should have no problem running any mission with either ship apart Worlds Collide.
PS: I donŠt do missions against empire factions so no idea on those.
PS2: Always check this before doing a mission untill you feel bored of the mission :)

Nighthawk all the way.
Everyone knows how lvl 4's are easy in a Cerb.
Now picture the Cerb with an additional launcher and a better tank.
Oh! Did we mention you can bring some drones along for giggles?
Yeah, NH makes lvl 4's extremely easy, especially with rigs and faction gear.

I use both.
NH is awesome yes, and really steams through missions with lots of frigates and cruisers. I do sometimes however still use my Raven (fitted with around 2bil of faction gear) on those missiosn with a lot of BSs

It is really unbelievable how much pounding an nighthawk can take.
i use an passive shield tanked with 2 shield rechargers fitting, and i could hold an entire room aggro, without breaking an sweat.
the key is really intel on damage types, fit the right hardners and blast away the missions are really more fun to do than in an raven :-)

Intel on damage type ? 2 Invul Field, 2 Photon Field, 1 Gist C Type Large Shield Booster, tank everything without having to switch fitting.

Quite simple. Nighthawk for ease of use, Raven (or rather CNR) for efficiency. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

I use a Nighthawk for lvl 4s. without going into specifics, i can deal out a rideculous amount of damage, and can tank an equally silly amount. i can regularly put myself against 5-7 BSs (once everything smaller is gone) and make it through without a sweat (albeit a few thousand heavy missles lighter). in the end however, it is probably going to come down to what you have the skills to outfit them with. if you have heavy missle spec then i would go with the NH, if you have cruise spec, then the Raven.

Passive tanking the nighthawk is the way to go generally. Think of a drake on *****... that's the Nighthawk's tanking ability. A drake vs Gurista's can perma tank 1200+ dps easily with T2 gear. A little less vs EM enemies, but still pretty darn good tanking.
Generally a fitting like this:
Hi's: Heavy Missiles, Tractor Mids: 2 Extenders, 3 faction specific hardeners (2 for the primary dmg type, 1 for the secondary) Lows: 1 SPR, 3 BCS Rigs: 2 Core Defence Field Purger
Massive tank, good dps.
If you want a generic setup do this to the mids:
Mids: 3 extenders, 2 invulns
If you don't have the grid to fit that with the same lows then do this:
Mids: 2 Extenders, 1 Recharger, 2 Invulns
