That's the only way to describe someone like *****cat, Police Renegade and Almondriel. They caught my alter ego's Apocalypse fair and square in a jump in trap, they outgunned me and stripped most of my armor and hull. *****cat started a convo demanding 40M isk. I only had 18M, which I offered them and paid them in good faith to not kill my ship. I paid, then they opened fire and destroyed my ship anyway. So, if you get stopped by Space Invaders, don't bother giving them money, because they are going to kill you anyway.

I did not try to stall, I paid up as soon as *****cat convo'd me. Now I have no money, no Apoc, just a Velator, and I'm seriously thinking of jacking the game in.

*****cat has now returned my 18M. She said the game delayed the payment, and they thought I was stalling. When the payment did come through, they had already despatched my ship.

Hello,
I had a chat with pussycat about this, and she says she will pay the guy his ransom back.
As most people know, we at SPVD do *not* kill people who have paid. So this guy will get his money back. (and a free pass  )
This was an unfortunate incident. I know for a fact that the server has been laggy as ass tonight (I have been out trying to pod the eve-radio DJ). Also, I'm sure the appearance of another BS meant they had to end the transaction quickly.
Thankyou pussycat, for doing what many people wouldn't, and giving someones money back. You rock.
note to victims: We don't have much time to collect your money. If other ships start arriving, then the deal will be cut short, and you will be eliminated. As in this case, money recieved will be paid back.

that was pretty low *****cat... It's not the problem of being a rat, it's a matter of honor. Even if people don't respect you and even if it's just a game, I would suggest your ceo to blame you and provide your victim repairs for your behavior, which is in my opinion as low as an hangar thief like the one that attacked KIA's hangars. I don't think giving back the ransom is enough as well as your freepass, since the guy will be at best in a cruiser and won't get back there for a while...

Well I have not joined SPVD without no reason. I ransom ships everyday from BS to shuttles. This was just a missfortune. I have plenty off isk and no intentions to be greedy .

If you have plenty of money, Why not give him enough ISK to get into a new BS? Since he DID pay.
Either way I find it good that you paid him back the 18M, but he still lost his ship which is a lot harder to replace than 18m isk.
Also when you are checking your wallet, you move your mouse over the icon and it shows your isk? for me this always shows up incorrect, I recomend auctually opening the wallet.

Almost right, Lian. It was a race to beat the flames, yes, because our corp is built, and thrives on the principle of letting people pass when they pay.
It's not a full apology. I only apologise for taking his money. This has now been returned.
I feel a little sorry for the guy if he wasn't insured, but I'm not gonna go giving out BS's, because other people's insurance is their problem not ours. Also, he could be lying, he might have had full insurance for all we know. As has been said before, there is *nothing* wrong with lying to pirates... apparently.

I have to say, that as someone who has both loved and hated the Space Invaders at various times in the history of the game, I applaud Pu55ycat and drunkenmaster for making this gesture.
It shows a bit of class, and will help to underscore your reputation as pirates who will abide by the terms of the ransom.

Why not pay them from time to time? Just put the money on the top of your torp and make them catch it. You can even make it more fun by sending 20 torps and they have to guess which one has the millions attached to it.
You could even trasfer the cash by using new Tachyon bank connection.
Or if they prefer cash just put the coins in your Ion Blaster and make the payment.

SI are very honorable. I have done business with them many times and have been held up by them. One word of advice. "Don't Try to Log Off". Also Insure your ship, the basic at the very least. Then you won't be Devastated by the loss. Or have extra's.... I know I do.
If you don't do that it is your own fault.

My was ship was insured, up until the insurance ran out a couple of days ago. I had forgotten to re-insure it.
I was flying agent missions for an agent in Ation (0.5), and had been for the last couple of weeks without any problem, I was not expecting a pirate camp at a JIP in a 0.4 which on the Sinq side is surrounded by 0.5's, I have since discovered that Egghelende where they got me connects to a 0.3 in Heimatar.
I lost an Apoc, 9 Harvesters, 1 Afterburner 1, 2 LiF Boosters, 1 Catalyzed Coldgas MWD, a local hull OD, a partial hull OD, a beta OD, 2 Local hull nanofibers, 2 partial hull nanofibers, 2 Tachyons, 2 HBLs, 3 HPLs, 2 L Gamma and 5 M Gamma crystals, I would guess at a total value somewhere between 120-130M, insurance would have paid me about 45M, as I didn't have insurance, I thought paying over the 18M I did have would be a good price to save my ship, unfortuantely because of lag in the game and another BS warping in while I was being held ransom, I lost the ship.
I have 18M and a Bestower to work up from now, it's going to be a long haul, but hey that's just part of the game. I never expected *****cat or SI to replace my ship because of the mistake they made and I still don't, in fact initially I never expected to get my 18M back, but I did, and at least it gives me a base to work from, and I thank *****cat and SI for b eing so honourable, a lot of pirates wouldn't have even given me my money back.
Drahcir (it was actually my alter ego Batack who had the run in with *****cat).

Umm...why not? Just log off and immediately relog as an alt....then your ship disappears immediately

When u pop up we strip your shiled instantly. It takes u about 30s to relog. In 30 seconds we will blow your ship upp and give u a free trip back to your noob station. Not a good advice,

People like you are part of the reason that some people don't even get a chance at surviving a blockade.
Why should a pirate spend the time to let people live (with a little less money) when there's a good chance they'll do this sort of crap?

I've hunted with SI, namely *****cat with the help of Almondriel and they are great guys. My advice is pay the ransom and leave quietly and ignore stupid advice like logging off and logging in with an alt, it will get you podded

Dear Homo, we pirates are all in bead with each others. Its a shame that some people meet us in bad moods and get killed for no appearent reason(or so it seems), because we are all nice guys when you get to know us.
Victims: just be polite and act fast and you will receive the same treatment.
We do try to hold to our true nature, pirating. But sometimes we resort to true terrorism (Venal&Pureblind).
