Hi,
I'm planning on buying a new laptop! A PowerBook G4 is what I'm using atm. But I can't play EVE on this laptop, so I'm about to sell it.
I found a Acer Aspire 9815WKMI instead. The plan is to buy this new from the shop. It's a huge 20,1" display, so it will be a wonderful experience!
However, I need to know if EVE will run smoothly on the following setup:

Of course it will - stop showing off!
I run eve full screen on a hybrid D800 laptop at 1920 x 1200 with an ATi 9600.

You'll be able to play EVE, no worries. EVE will even be running better than on some stationary comps! My Acer Aspire 5020 can even run two clients (if I don't go complexrunning on both :p) so you'll be fine.
I wonder how many people are going to whine about the Swedish part in your post though?

That stomps all over my laptop in every department, and I have no problems running even the most cluttered and graphic intensive level 4 missions.
Any performance problems you may encounter will have nothing to do with the laptop specs, that's for sure.

Are you really, I mean really sure? My stationary laptop is a AMD63 3500+ 1GB RAM GeForce 6800GT. And I must say I blame "that" computer for some fleetfights.
Since the graphicscard is even worse on the laptop compared to the stationary counterpart, I'm having a hard time realizing that this computer will run EVE just fine!
And yes, I'm terrible sorry for the swedish in my OP. However, I didn't find any webbsite with "english only".

My laptop has a geforce go 6600 with 128MB. Mobile pentium 1.7GHz, and 512MB of RAM. It's now two years old and still does a great job
In one of the stress tests on Sisi, it performed fairly well, and all the problems were definitely server related. Once I made it to the fight zone with well over a hundred of us pounding away at Sharkbait, everything ran very smoothly. I could happily change the view point, even zoom into different ships and back again with no problems.
I think the main issue with fleetfights is still server related, but a nice setup like that laptop will do you no harm.

Yes it will play eve, and play it well. But honestly, why would anyone buy a laptop that weighs almost 8 kg??
I got a DELL XPS, and that weighs close to 4 kg! And believe me, its not a laptop, but a building brick.

I have a 1.66 Ghz Duo with 1 GB and a X1400 and I can run eve ridiculously well, even when frapsing. Best buy I ever made in my life, considering not only can I use it for pretty much everything I throw at it but also can slap it together and shove it under the sofa to hide it when I'm trying to get l... uhm expecting a visitor
edit My point being you can play EVE or do whatever you want with no worries if you get that lappy
