I'm a 0.0 miner who only has one account and, as a result, I can't mine and tank the spawns (up to 1.4m) at the same time. I'm therefore considering finding someone to tank for me as I mine.
I was wondering if there's a customary standard of the percentage of total mineral yied that the tanking player would be entitled to in return for their participation? |

Umm about half? I suggest either
a) getting a hulk on the skills to mine while tanking said spawn or b) making some friends or a corp to mine with, so that there will be a tank provided.

no argument here...0.0 mining is EXACTLY the kinda thing Hulks were designed for if you wanna keep solo mining. Joining or allying with a 0.0 mining/ratting corp is also a good option; safety in numbers...I'm assuming you're mining in a covetor? Cuz thats a DAMN tempting target for a pirate, and anything short of a Hulk doesnt really stand much of a chance.
Theres certainly nothing saying you can't hire a few mercs to fly overwatch while you mine, but frankly thats a damn boring job most of the time, time they could spend ratting or whatever, so to offer them enough to make it worthwhile would probably cut your profits to the bone. *** Not Just Cool...Warp to 0 Cool *** |

Long ago, in an alliance I was in...
There were a bunch of miners from different corps within the alliance. At first they use to mine on different belts but soon they saw mining on the same belt was better, as they could then join forces. The joint miner's drone armada was mighty.
In short, make friends with some other local miners. |
