Way of gaining money?
1, Mining. If so what ship, setup, how much do you make?
2, Ratting/Mission Running. If so what ship, setup, how much do you make?
3, Piratting. If so what ship, setup, how much do you make, How long you been doing it, kills to wins?
4, Scamming. If so (post with alt so not to get linched), succeses to being cuaght out, how much you make?
5, Trade. If so whats your biggest profit or loss?
6, Im poor. If so....LOL Do one/all of the above lol
------
I like ratting in low sec although I find I am constantly being interupted by pirates so I have to warp out, and run away with my tail between my legs. On average I can make 1 - 3M from jumping belts in an empty system on a good day. Or -32M on a bad day where I get a ship destroyed.
Pref ship: Tristan H: 2 x Light Neutron Blasters II, 2 x 'malkuth' standard missile launcher I M: catalyzed cold-gas i arcjet thrusters, 2 x cap recharger II L: small armor repairer II , 3 x capacitor power relay II
I find that although its a frigate I can tank most things wiht my armour rep repairing damage before its even been dealt. Its also fast at moving out if a threat warps in.
I love my fat man...

1) For a cruiser, the scythe. I mine about 2100 scordite every cycle, and I fit 3 miner ii's
2) ratting? I like the bellicose but Im just getting a rupture soon, so I guess thats good.
I just lost a ship, not an expensive one but the bellicose today by the goonsquad in lowsec. I can easily take on 3 NPC's with 3 drones and autocannons.

3:
Pirating for a long time lol, Think I went outlaw in 03-05. Been an outlaw ever since and just pirate for my isk, so i'm never rich.
Make on average enough to buy my new ships lol, Think I made 150-200mill this week (If someone buys my 4 frigin local expanders off the market) lol.
Kills to wins ? Got just over 1000 ship kills, I die a fair bit. But not that often, except recently... been ****ing about in Caldari/Minmatar Bc's and losing them like anything lol Guesse my 600k sp missile skills and level 2 medium projectile skills aint that effective

2: mission running
im a relatively new player and have recently go onto doing lvl 4 missions - although i must say lvl 4 missions are MUCH harder than lvl 3 - lvl 3 are more like my bread and butter - but thanks to salvaging mission running now earns me a very decent living

Pirating.
I've been slowly eating away at the 15mil I made off of a singular t2 expander that dropped from a mining Osprey to pay for the difference between ships + mods and insurance payout for every time I die. My kill ration is about even with my loss ration atm, but only cause I'm a crazy bastard and do things like try to take on Drakes in Atrons, etc.
But soon enough I'll be able to fly the Taranis. So I better learn to cut my losses and fight to kill quickly or I'll be losing my Taranis fast. :P

Do cap power relay II's even exhist ? I call bs
And agreed, that much isk on a crap ship is silly. An Af maybe, but on a frig it's just pointless.

lolz - fitted a rig to my drake.....which adds about 30m to its value (in theory) nothing wrong with fitting expensive mods to standard ships - if it works use it :-)

exactlty. The thing is it does its job. I can tank most things, the only thing I cant is when a pirat warps in and WTFOMGIMONFIREANDNOWDEADPWNS me!
That doesnt happen often, but when it does I end up feeling quite sad and question my set up. This is the best setup i have had so far. I dont pirate so I have no use for webifiers and scrammers. All I need is my MWD to get close and my weapons. I do 120-180 with theese guns. DM is about 7.5 with NULL charges with fire rate 1.95 secs, it does a hefty blow very fast. You may question it, but untill you try it dont knock it becuase it works for me. Thats the whole point of the thousands of diferent set ups you can have, so there is variation to the ships. If every one had teh same set up on similar ships then we may as well be playing some other generic game where the only thing that lets you beat some one else is the amoount of time you have been playing (SP).

A T1 fitted Thorax (with cheap named items) could do a better job with less isk, IMO
Btw, Tristan has 3 low slots, not 4.

High sec sucide ganking of mining barges.
Now I use a caracal with heavy assault missiles. Lose one for each attempted kill. About 90% success rate. Fingers crossed that a strip miner drops.
Will also use a kestral if there is a few of us. Less expense, but the loot has to be split more ways.

I do # 2 and 3.
For #2 I use a Raven in 0.0 space.I can make upwards of 50+ mil a day if I realy try.
For #3 I use a Myrmidon.Been at it for about 5-6 months and can make quite a good sum of money if I get a good kill. Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? |

1, Mining. Retriever and standard strips, or Apoc with Miner IIs, only if I'm <very> bored, which I haven't been in a while.
2, Ratting/Mission Running. Raven for ratting, CNR for missioning, 5-50m (occasionally more) an hour, depending on loot/bounties/rewards.
3, Pirating. You can make money pirating? PvP is very new to me, despite my age, so my chances of making money on it are slim/none.
4, Scamming. Nope, been scammed once or twice, not a good feeling.
5, Trade. Profit: 3m for a cross-system warp in a Badger II...no, I'm not saying where, but that was a while ago. Loss: Buying 100 Boost Amp II's at 7.5m each just after they hit market...

Squishing people. Some people have fantastic loot. Also, while looking for them in fountain belts, I might get good rats to shoot at, too ;) ----------------------------

3) piraitng. been killing for years but only serious pirating for about 8 months or so. made an absolute killing tbh
5) trading. a little of this in between all the destruction is good for business and funds the t2/faction ships/fittings. made my first billion doing trading/selling bpc's etc and it tops up the wallet when it gets low (alts ftw)
oh and pls tell me u don't actually use 2 t2 cap rechargers on a tristan cos dam that one expensive ship to get insta popped

Ever thought of buying a cruiser with a good t1/t2 fitting who would do more damage, more tank and would cost less in the end

Edited by: Lord Evangelian on 13/01/2007 13:39:43 I use it when I'm mission running and ratting, ATM Im training for my Stelth bomber nemisis, got about 4-5 days left yet. I know its expensive but I get poped perhaps 1 in 8 times.
:( Silly but that cap rechargers help my tank, and with npcs thats all I need. What would you recomend T1 rather than T2?

Well not really i mean t2 are better but atm they're very expensive which makes for a big loss on only a t1 frigate. depends how much cash ya got really. if ur doing well financially then keep using them. if you'll cry if u lose them then i'd swap them for good named ones which are soooo much cheaper. think the t2 are going for +20mil each atm aren't they?
