I have been searching all empires for an astrogeology skill book but have not yet found one. If this skills is on the market then I'd be happy to pay handsomely for it.

No it doesn't on the market...
You can have it only from character creation or pirates loot (if you really have luck I think)

I would like to see Astrogeology available as well. Had I known the skill wasn't going to be available on the market I would of made sure I got it on creation. I'm a miner and not having this skill available for purchase is really ****ing me off.

As of right now it is a creation only skill, I had to create a new char. 20% more in mining thats a lot when your a hard core miner. Wait till the miner 2s come out

I must admit it is quite bothersome the lacking of skills available on the market. The game was sold as one which you couldn't make a wrong decision when creating a character because it wasn't anything you could not rectify by acquiring the proper skills.
Now it seems you can make a huge mistake when you create a character, if you do not pick the right path to the gain skills which don't seem to be available to purchase.
Missing skills like Astrogeology for example to assist a miner or Production Efficiency to assist a builder. Woe unto he/she who chooses to solo the world as a miner/builder against others without having at least one of these skills. The market is brutal enough without facing competition who chose a different path.

wtf!, this thread was dead almost 3 yrs!!!!!!!!!!
forum necromancy = BAD
and it is available on market now(from the schools)
