Saying gallente suck or caldari suck is fine. But do not bring real life nationalities into this.

Duh @ the op!
Amarr = Lasers and drones
Caldari = Missiles and rails
Gallente = Blasters and drones
Minmatar = duct t.. I mean projectiles and missiles
Sounds about right to me that gallente aint have a missile boat, my alt is a maxed gallente-only-hore and got like 500 SP in missiles, basically I never needed skills in missiles to fly gallente why should I now?
If you think missiles are better than drones and hybrids, go train for it and you gonna have a bad suprise in a couple of months when u maxed ur skills. Missiles do more dmg in the begining without much SP investment but once you max all the skills you will discover missiles/caldari wont out DMG gallente.
BTW gallente have as many missile boat as amarr does... thats like 2-3 with any proper amount of missile HPs and a missile bonus.

Im pretty sure Ive never seen a ship other than a HAC tank like a Drake can. If it really comes down to a fight my money's on the Drake.

OP, you are very mistaken. I don't know much about the Myrmidon, but what I do know is that the Drake is a popular and excellent ship that can fit a nasty tank. The reason he hurts you so much is not because his weapons do more damage (because they don't...or at least shouldn't), but because your ship doesn't have the omgwtfbbxhax tank that his does. You missed the salient issue by a long shot.
Gallente are the kings of DPS. In general, their ships do more than anyone else's at close range. (Of course there are a few exceptions to this rule. However, the Caldari are definately not the damage kings.)
Finally, you don't want missiles polluting your races ships if damage is what you're after. For the most part, non-Caldari missile boats are tanking monsters, not ganking monsters. This is because dual-weapon setups usually create conflicting interest and, ultimately, lower DPS. With this in mind, non-Caldari missile ships become tanking kings for two main reasons:
1. Nos. Filling all of a boat's missile hardpoints with launchers and the rest of the hi-slots with nos is very popular. Nos not only hurts your enemy significantly, but nos is great for your cap. Just look at the nos-phoon.
2. Missiles don't use cap, so it is only natural that they should complement tanking. You can run reppers for a lot longer when you're not spending your valuable cap regen on your weapons.

thanks to all (even to sad spiteful ones ;-)
you've restored my faith in Gallente and i shall proudly keep training my gunz and other skills pertaining to defenses capabilities.
i know there are threads on tanking and rails setups but since we're here, any suggestions on these?
