Drones are facking retarded.
- Stop drones from switching targets < this should be an easy fix - remove the damn timer that tells them not to attack something if they haven't reached the target yet
- Make drones dock when I tell them to < again, how much code does this really need? - I'm tired of them sitting 500m away from my ship and unable to scoop - I'm not a patient person - the next drone that does it gets popped
- If a node crashes or I get disconnected while my drones are out, someone else can steal them or NPCs can blow them up < have drones auto-return... or at least make the drone theif a blinky so I can make him pay in case it happens in high sec
There's more but these bugs have been around for a long ass time and the fixes are simple. When can us drone users get some luvin?

Nah, drones are great, but there's some iritating things...
- Drones will not attack some objects that you can attack with any other weapon, like secure cans.
- Drones will not defend themselves if left alone (e.g. you log or get disconnected), or if they are targeted instead of you.
- Drone stats will not update in info screen based on your skills, unlike your other equipped items.

I concure with this I must lose about 15-20 drones a sesion due to disconnects and them just being so damn stupid, it drives me up the wall.
Why arn't they fixed.
Be able to recall once you log in after a disconnect. Drones will defend them selves if attacked Attack the target you tell them to.

Example: you send your slowboating Ogres to a target 40k or so away. They start making their way there, and after they travel about 35k, they decide to come back or switch targets. There's an obvious 'timeout' in effect. Same thing happens when the drones can't catch someone with a mwd on. Finally they're just like "screw it! we give up!" Lazy little ****s.

Losing drones because of disconnects is easily one of the most frustrating things in this game for me. Warping back in to find my formerly semi-obedient drones completely inert, and having to get to within 1,500 m of 'em in order to save them is painfully irritating.
I don't expect it to be fixed, however, as it is clearly a low priority to fix the drone aspect of the game. It's not like the other drone 'bugs' that CCP might be having difficulty reproducing reliably, which I can somewhat understand. This is a design flaw that just doesn't make any sense, but has been persistently ignored over time.
In the grand scheme of things this is neglidgeable given the quality of the overall game. But I too feel as though it has been ignored for too long.

The one you said about them not going to the hangar when you tell them to Return to Drone Bay, do they really do that to you?
That used to happen with the drones I were using a few months ago but now it doesn't happen anymore (with regular non-fighter drones). There was a dev that was working on it and said that it was something to do with collision detection.
It doesn't happen anymore when I use drones though. I'm really glad he was able to fix it in whatever fashion it is now, it was really difficult to work with.

Yep - it is annoying as hell - so here is a suggested fix Devs
Set up a skill that increases drone obedience - where lvl5 is that they will do EVERYTHING you tell them to regardless
Set up another skill to allows you to target specific targets - for example when u warp into a mission environment - they will attack targets that are closer than 20k and smaller than battleships
Yet another drone skill to group attack - cos we all know how effective these little buggers are when grouped .....
And as CCP loves creating skills - they should love this idea :)

my fighter drones on my carrier are doing my head in, you lock a target and send them off, they move like speeding bullets but recalling them its as if they are doing an impression of a snail.
However if a drop a can, lock that and set the frighter drones to attack, they zoom on back to me, and then i scoop them.
Very crude way to make something work, which should work anyhow.
PS, because my drones responded on there own the other night, when someone attacked me, i couldnt bloody dock and got popped. :(

Drones have been bugged since the start of eve, sometimes we get a patch and they behave for a minute, but anyone really expecting a real fix?
Seems to be the CCP Plan, leave a problem around so long people expect it to be like that, maybe they wont notice. Stay Chilly & Watch Your Six!
