About sleeper data sites:
Lately, I have being doing some exploration into wormholes and found some guarded data sites by sleepers, I wanted to know how hard they are to clear, for exemple if with an Astero is it possible without much risc, our they need to be cleared in a group.
Questions about cloaking devices:
- If NPC(and maybe a player) start attacking you can you just turn on the cloaking unit and get away while cloaked?
- If I deploy drones and then cloack can I atack with the drones without uncloak?
- Can a cloaked ship target without breaking cloacking?
Thanks to everyone that is helping me understanding the game.
Also I dont have English as my main language so sorry my "Broken English".

Im no expert in this so i might be wrong (i do consider myself an explorer tho, thats my main activity in game)
BUT
I highly doubt an astero can solo any sites in wormholes.
I currently use a legion for that and sometimes i have to warp off to regen but a legion is far more expensive than an astero both isk and skill point wise. I guess a Stratios can work aswell in C1 or maybe even C2 wh sites. But you will need a very good fit and skill set for that to work.
Answering to your 3 questions:
1. No. You cant cloak while under fire. 2. No. 3. Yes and no. There are ships such as stealth bombers that can do that but not the astero or other ships (as far as I know)
Hope this helps, if you need any other help regarding exploration, gimme a call in-game! |

To simplify the cloaking mechanics you can not cloak while targeted and you can not target while cloaked. |

And if you send them first, they'll just stop.
Unless they don't, because they're bugged known to sometimes think for themselves.
And it would make it way too easy and safe anyway. |

Cloaking, in this game, is for moving around; you can't attack while cloaked. And you can't re-cloak if targeted, so, once you engage, you're engaged.
The difference between the cov-ops cloak and the regular cloak is that the cov-ops allows warping, the regular cloak must be disengaged if you want to warp away. So with the regular cloak, you can go to a safespot bookmark, and cloak up, and should be reasonably safe as no one is around to see you cloaking up.
With the cov-ops cloak you warp around and actually scout, but still you're typically given away by the fact that your name appears in the Local channel list. And also after jumping through every gate, there's a brief 1s delay between the gate invisibility and activating your cov-ops cloak, where you're visible, so anyone monitoring the gate will know what ship you have and can possibly prevent you from cloaking. Interceptors with MWD have extreme speeds, and are used to bump cov-ops ships and thus decloak them, all from that brief 1s visibility.
Sleepers are pretty tough; they have advanced AI that makes full use of webifiers, warp disruptors, and jamming, and the ships coordinate (frigates will go for tackling, big ships will go for damage). Also, they attack drones and switch targets as necessary, to whatever is the highest threat to them. |

No.
No.
No.
Use this guide to see how much damage/what ewar sleepers do by site.

Without a decent fit specifically for WHs, you will probably be neuted out by sleepers, and they target drones far more than any rats in known space. Also remember you don't get bounty payments in wormholes, so you need a way to loot and salvage the sleepers. Sleeper guarded relic/data sites aren't really worth hacking at all, the money is in the loot and salvage.
I use a drake for C1/C2s, a rattlesnake for C3/4s (If I'm solo), but nearly always go with a group. Taking down the sleepers isn't the dangerous part when solo, it's the guy cloaked next to you waiting to shoot you in the face.
The easiest money to make solo in WHs is gas mining. You have 15 minutes after warping to a gas site before sleepers show up. Warp to the gas cloud at 100 to make sure someone else hasn't spawned the sleepers, if they aren't there, warp out/back in and harvest gas until sleepers show up. You can do it in a venture, so even if you get killed, the ship loss costs you next to nothing. The best gas in the game gets you around 1 mil per cycle of your gas harvesters.
Convo me in game, I currently live w-space and can give you some pointers/show you around |

One of our lads had a rattlesnake tackled on a gate a couple of months ago, it threw out a gecko which started eating his hecate.
Then the rattlesnake jumped (with an aggression timer) and the gecko continued eating the destroyer on the other side of the gate from the parent ship.
Drones are terrifyingly autonomous at times. For newbies, none of that should have happened, drones should stop functioning as soon as you leave grid/cloak.
Better the Devil you know.

Holy **** that's actually pretty scary...
I identify as Sol-kin and I oppose all WiSgender, because all you white priviledged spacists just want to supress me with your avatariarchy. And when the last carebears are eradicated, I will stand before you and yell "THE GAME! YOU LOST!"

Wormhole forums are your friend!
Just watch out for Jester.
A tip with sleepers to keep them from killing your drones is to use ewar, they tend to focus their aggro on whoever's using it. Gila is pretty much the ship of choice these days for low-class wormhole sites. But you can easily run C1-2 sites in any tech 1 battlecruiser. Passive recharge fits are your best option a lot of the time. Carry a salvager, sleeper salvage is often the more valuable loot you'll get out of low level sites.
I wouldn't tackle C3 sites or above at your level or alone just yet. Sleepers in some C3 sites can warp scramble you so it's rather unforgiving if you find you need to bail out. Stick to C1-C2 where sleepers don't scram.
To find out what class of wormhole you've jumped into just type the J number into one of the many wormhole data sites like this one.
Also good to check recent kills there. If someone died 30 minutes ago it's prolly not good to run sites there.
One of the best ways to make ISK as a newbie is to run nullsec style relic/data sites which can be found in C1-C3 wormholes. They're the Angel/Blood sites etc and not the sleeper ones. They contain no NPCs so just hack them canz
Spam your directional scanner every couple seconds while in a wormhole. Scary monsters like me lurkin' around who'll be trying to sneak up n' murder you. Search youtube for some great directional scanner tutorials. Never sit around un-cloaked, always cloak while you're scanning or stepping away for a pee pee. Always fly like someone's watching you cloaked nearby because a lot of the time they actually will be.
