i donno if its in the new engine but i thougt it would be a good feature
i think it would drastic improve the visual experience if the you could let the camera do some automatic movements that u nat allways see pnly your schip maybe switch to some opponens in battle or follow some missles u shoot or simply move the camera around the ship like in some trailers
so that u actually have the epic fiew as u see it in the trailers

You can already look around, pan and zoom with the camera atm.

Could just let the camera auto rotate and pan when the ships in warp. When it comes out, it auto shifts back to its original position.
Stations have that functionality (and the option to do that is in the options folder).

It seemed to work here ---------

I think he's asking something like a "cinematic" camera, that takes panoramic shots of the action... Something like the cinematic camera in SW Empire at War...
Personally I play always at full zoom to avoid rendering lag, and wouldn't use the feature at all, but I guess somebody would like it and use it, but I fear it would take some lenghty and unnecessary coding.

Lol just read... Funny! Although it doesn't speak highly of human nature even if in this case it helped saving what eventually became (I gather) a good game.

I think its funny that hes asking about cinematic camera stuff and someones told him that you can do it but no ones told him how. Almost all the eve cinematics were made in game Erodan. So if you see it there you can do the same thing yourself.. first if you want to play around with the camera in more interesting ways go to you options and turn on advanced camera movement.. If you want to pan the camera off your ship you hold down right click and move the mouse and the camera moves away.. if you then want to zoom while your doing this also hold down left click (dont let go of right click or the camera resets) and move the mouse up and down while both buttons are held down. You can zoom in quite far.. most the cinematics are made this way. Also the camera already has a somewhat fishbowl lens effect on it, but it seem to be more prominent if you change you vid settings to widescreen. Hope this helps your gameplay feel more cinematic, and epic.. cheers

Made this suggestion quite some while ago and it pops up in one form or another probably once a week.
Eve would be PERFECTLY SUITED for this type of cinematic camera mode (Well except some PVP, so you should be able to turn it off).

Have to agree COMPLETELY. its like the difference between star trek battles and battlestar Galactica battles...the shaky zoom effect makes all the difference.its like going from to . Auto camera ftw! p.s; cinematic mining anyone?
